The only way to go to the movies... Gold Class!

Blake and I have always enjoyed going to the movies... this was always a treat for me and my dad growing up so it only seems fitting to continue this tradition with Blake... The new Batman movie came out and Blake had to go see it... we went on one of our date nights with our friends... and we got to see the movie in the infamous "Gold Class"... we had heard alot about Gold Class... like you can order drinks and food while watching the movie, they will refill your popcorn for you, and you get to sit in these lazy boy recliners... well I will let the pictures tell you the rest... but this is the ONLY way to watch a movie.
Here is the entrance... Marble and Glass doors and several attendants to greet you.
Here is the bar outside... just in case you were waiting on the movie to start.
Here are the chairs... and they give you blankets... they recline completely flat and are so comfortable... I asked Blake if we could sleep here tonight?
Here are our friend Tracy and Neil... this was before all the food came.
Our friends Wendi (Pierce's girlfriend) and Frank... I forgot to tell you that the chairs vibrate from the sound of the movie.... so cool (very loud).
You know who this is...I was prepared with my pants and jacket... did not know they gave you blankets... and just to let you know the Batman movie was awesome... my favorite this year for sure.

14.5 hours later!

Pierce went to sleep on Monday around 8pm and did not wake up until 10:30am the next morning...14.5 hours later this is what we got... a happy boy that seemed to me had grown 2 feet and lost about 10 lbs... he is in a major growth spurt and I wanted to see if you saw what I saw...
Blake and I have enjoyed these pictures so much we have compared them to both of our baby pictures around this age... and we have concluded that he looks more like Blake right now... what do you think?

P.S. Aren't those the cutest shoes... thanks Lisa!

So happy to be awake... finally.

He was dancing and I tired to get him in motion.

He has become quite the mommy's boy he loves taking pictures with me and smiling when I say cheese... and then he makes me show him his picture... crazy but oh so cute.

We are starting to read books about potty training... and he was showing me his potty (upside down).

Hey mom... let me show you something... :-)

A day at Vivo City!

On Friday we did not have alot planned but I could tell Pierce needed/wanted out of the condo... we called our friend Tracy and meet her up at Vivo City... a local mall that has a Starbucks and a great children's play area.

There is a water play area that is why Pierce is with no shirt.

There are some unusual toys here in Singapore/Asia... you will see but none the less they are still fun. This is an egg that is suspended from the roof and spins around... Pierce loved it.

Another meaning of window shopping... we were playing and then Pierce starts running for the balls in the window.

Here is another one of those weird toys... I think this is suppose to blow bubbles... but it is never on.
See the Starbucks in the back... YEAH for mommy... Pierce is really to small (never thought I would say that) to ride these animals but the worker said he could sit on one and I could push it...He soon wanted down so he could... well you will see in the next picture.
He could push it... more like it. (this is the same day but I had to change his clothes bc he was so wet from the water.)

Pierce playing... he does it quite well with just himself...

Starry, Starry Night!

This is what we do in our spare time... we go to these classes on how to swallow fire... JUST KIDDING. Blake was invited by one their customers to an appreciation dinner... we had so much fun and the entertainment was the best.

First up was a band that was OK... but next were these FIRE guys... there will be a video to show you what they do... but they spit poisonous needles out of hollowed tree limbs and pop balloons, swallow fire and swing it around... you will see.

Crazy... they were so close and I could feel how hot it the fire was...

Pretty cool... this is what we should all do in our spare time... spit kerosene at each other and see who can make the biggest flame... NOT.

Our last entertainer was "NINA"... she sang to us and danced for us... I will let you let me know in the comments if you think she was really a she or a HE.

Here are the flame throwers... not sure if I like the performance or the music better... :-)

Here is the legend "NINA"... you make the final call... what do you think?

After all the "paid" entertainers went home... a participant of the party decided to have his own little performance... which I like to call "Little India"... just think he did this for free... I never thought they could dance like this in India... I was wrong.

Care Package from the Jenkins!

There was a knock at the door and the post man asked if I was Nancy... I immediately knew what he was trying to say and said "Yes"... we got a package from my dear friend (old co-worker at InterFit) Nancy Jenkins (Eccles) and her family. We have stayed in touch since she left Houston and headed for the big city Dallas, TX where she met the love of her life and had a baby girl. Nancy and I go way back... even to Blake and I's engagement night where Nancy was a witness (see picture above on our engagement night).

We thank you so much Nancy, you have always been very thoughtful and a great gift giver... I remember the time I meet up with Nancy in NY (the same trip as when I got engaged) and we went shopping... she went and checked out at a store and then came up to me and gave me a bracelet (a bracelet that I wore just last night)... so sweet and I love you.

Thank you for thinking of us (so far away)... you really made my day... really all the days that my chai tea will last... you rock!

The card on the left says "Howdy" when you open it up... Nice Touch Nancy. She also knows how much I love some trendy shoes and twizzlers... how she remembers all this years later I will never know but she is good.

Ok... there is story here... I owe my Starbucks addiction ($6 a cup here in Singapore)... Soy Chai Tea Latte with no water... all to Nancy... bc of her I am now broke. I told her via email a couple of weeks ago that the Chai Tea here was not the same bc they do not use Vanilla Soy Milk... and it takes away from some of the flavor... so sweet Nancy went out and got me some and sent it to me... So sweet.

Pierce learns how to kick (in the water)!

You have seen alot of pictures of Pierce in the pool... but I had to show you these... some of these pics are my favorite (taken just this week) and I had to show you now Pierce can kick his feet and swim with his floaties. Above is one of my favorite pictures... him not letting go of the flower but wanting to jump in the pool he can almost taste it.

Pierce will crawl in the smallest places to see if he can fit...

He loves the frogs and has to sit on them every time we go to the pool.

So cute...

In this video you can see how well Pierce is kicking his feet... I think he also understands that if he stops kicking he will sink (his floaties can not support all the weight)...

Some more of Pierce swimming.... and I am not sure what is up with my commentary for the viewing audience...sorry about that... HE HE HE But I am so proud of him... he has come a long way in just a couple of weeks from sinking in the deep pool to now knowing how to kick, keep his head up and how to spit out the water instead of drinking it.

This is a little patch of grass next to the pool where a ball usually is hiding in the bushes so we can play soccer with it but... today it was gone and I thought this was so cute on how confused Pierce was when he could not find it... he is learning that things are not always where they are when there is not a mom behind him to pick it up and put it back in its place... HE HE HE

Pierce loves doing this... he kind of jumps and then throws himself down trying to make a bigger splash then last time... the funniest part is... at the end... I guess he was done playing... he must of seen something that was more fun.

Leave your comment!

I got this fun game from Cassidy Landry....

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot-- or just from blogland-- anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

(As Cassidy said, Be Nice ;)

Culture Day at School!

At school this week they had "Culture Day" for the kids and had asked the parents to bring their kid dressed in the clothes that they would wear from their home land... well the good parents that we are we had no boots... not hat... no spurs... and no horse.... so we put him in his "All America" shirt that he wore on the 4th.
During culture day that visited different little towns around the school (i.e. China Town, India Town, Malaysia Town... there was no America Town but remember Pierce is the only American at the school) and got to learn about how they cook, what they eat, what they wear, and their language.

I wanted to share with you these photos taken by his teacher's assistant bc I think it is such a blessing that he is surrounded by all of these different cultures and learning amazing things.

Here he is learning to write in Chinese... forget English... right?

He must have been proud and was bringing to show off.

Here is Pierce's teacher... Mrs. Lee feeding his some food from another country (not sure which one).

You can take a girl out of Texas but you can't take Texas out of the girl!

Well it is no secret that most people can sleep better in the dark...this goes for Pierce as well. When we moved into our condo we realized his room gets alot of sunlight in the morning which might be the reason that he was waking up early (before 9am... he he he). I told a friend here that I thought I needed to get some black out curtains to see if he would sleep in a little bit and if it would help him take his naps...

I started doing some research on the curtains and since I had to have them made they were going to be a little pricey... I was telling a friend here that I did not want to spend that much money to find out that it had nothing to do with the sunlight but that it was just a natural progression for Pierce. She then told me "do like we use to do when I was younger.... put foil in the window"... not a bad idea and way cheaper for the experimentation.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves:

I even got to use masking tape to put it up with... nice job.

I decided after a couple of weeks to take the plunge... I started to get rid of the foil... we definitely did not make an impression from the road.

Here are the new curtains.... much better and they block most of the sunshine in the morning.

Pierce seems to like them too.

Bubbles!

Our friends Frank and Wendi (you have seen them alot on the blog) gave Pierce this bubble toy... and he can now say BUBBLES... we save this awesome game for when Blake comes home and Pierce now knows that when Dad walks in the door all he has to say to Daddy is Bubbles and they go outside for the best time ever. These pictures are not that good of him but I wanted you to know that he loves BUBBLES.

I think he might have been break dancing here with JOY.

It is hard to tell but this is right when Pierce was learning how to say Bubbles... Daddy was teaching him a new word... now it is clear as day... enjoy the show.

True Friendship!

Many of you reading this post (excluding the random people that stumbled on my blog) I have always cherished but through the miles and time these past couple of months I have really grown to love each of you and treasure our friendship. A friend of mine sent me this video through email and I thought immediately of all of you... My family and I have gone far far away for a short time but when we return our reunion will look something like this.

Love knows no limits and true friendship last a lifetime.

Thank you Great Grandma Croy!

I call her "Great G" when I am pointing her out to Pierce in their picture together from last Christmas (located on the refrigerator). She has always been an amazing Grandma to me (my mom's mom) and now I get to see her as a wonderful Great Grandma. She sent us a care package and it was loaded with goodies... take a look.
Thank you "Great G"... we love you and miss you more than you will ever know. We will see you in January (if you don't come see us sooner :-)).

Pierce could hardly wait to start reading the book (over and over again)... so he made it in the shot. The diapers are already in use (perfect timing), the crackers have been eaten and Blake has already dove into the mentos (gum... didn't know they made gum).

Thanks a million "Great G".... we love you!

Another night on the town!

We were invited to a comedy show with some of the guys that Blake works with... it was so funny and we had the best time. Blake and I got there early to get good seats and of course we picked seats right in the front so we got picked on. We learned early as soon as they found out Blake and I were Americans.. that Americans are easy to pick on especially right now during the elections. They also labeled us as Democrats (I guess they thought that Republicans do not have a self of humor)... but we were very quick to correct them and prove them wrong. They called me Camilla with the handcuff earrings.

The gang... I was already starting to laugh and the show had not started yet.

After the show we decided to go dancing... we had to get a taxi and when we got to the taxi que (line) it was to long so we decided to grab a bike... these guys ride on the wrong side of the road (against traffic) and have b-box music playing... it was hilarious but a little scary.

Can you tell I am scared?

Our friends Wendi and Frank (we usually go out with them on Saturday).

We made it safe and sound...

Our Last Days with Julie!

Julie is gone... and we miss her already... She left on Saturday and yes I am little slow in getting this blog up but I wanted to make sure I got everything of her trip blogged first... :-)

Here are Julies last couple of days with us.
On Thursday night Blake wanted to take Julie to the place where he lived in 2003 and for her to eat the great steak across the street (another place he would of called home in 2003... the restaurant) at Hoo Ha's Cafe. They do serve a really good steak but it is a hole in the wall.

Here is Pierce enjoying his steak (chicken and tomatoes).

Julie was missed from home.... Her man sent her flowers... and Pierce wanted to smell them.

The last night we wanted to take Julie to Clark Que and Boat Que (sort of like the river at San Antonio)... on our way to get some appetizers at Clark Que I had to get a picture of them sitting at the CLINIC Bar... so funny. You can either sit in wheel chairs or behind hospital sheet dividers and drink from an ivy.

We had to take Julie for her last night in Singapore to Boat Que to try the famous Chili Crab.

Of course Blake was not up for the crab so he got chili beef.

Well here is our crab... we split this monstrous thing... I think I ate 75% and Julie 25%.

Dig in and enjoy!

That is a big pierce of meat.

Here is Jimmy the owner... he is famous around these parts and even has commercials (or at least he told us so).

Here is a pic of Boat Que from the opposite side... all the colorful lights are different restaurants that line the river.

We miss you Julie! (This picture was before bed time and Pierce was not feeling well...)
