Asher's 1st Birthday... Having a Ball!

What a great time to be home with friends and family... we got to celebrate Asher's first birthday in Fort Worth with our loved ones.  It was a special time for sure and so thankful for ViVi and Grandad for opening up their home and making it that much more special.  And so thankful for all those that came out to the party.  I will forever remember all that you do to make us feel special and loved.

Asher's favorite thing in life as a 1 year old are balls... so it only seemed fitting to have a Ball party.  Although at the time I felt like it was original but just after 5 min on Pinterest I soon found out this was a very common theme... and so glad it was bc I got lots of ideas from online and off we went to planning and decorating.  I am sure glad my mom loves to decorate and is so helpful with all the details (and my dad of course and all the painting, tacking, hanging, sorting that has to be done for a party done right... he he he)

Here is the man of honor... our big one year old.... where does the time go???

You can read all about Asher on the last post where I detail all his measurements, moments, and more but I think this picture says it all... He is a miracle... love this little dude... our family was never complete without him but we just didn't know.

Daddy and I had taught Pierce how to hold up one finger on his first birthday when asked "How old are you"... so it only seemed fitting to see if brother could do it to... Well done brother.

This is where my mom and dad's final touches get to shine... here are all the decorations for the party.

This banner was made my dear friends in Singapore when they found out I was pregnant.  They threw a baby shower for us and this was hung above the cake.  I had to save it and it was hung in his nursery when he came home and now displayed at his first birthday... what can I say I am sentimental.

Have you ever had flavored colored popcorn?  Well if you haven't you need to... yummy and fun to decorate with.

For the take home gift for the all the children there was a ball, bucket and bubbles with their name on it.

A great day for sure... and more pics to come... this was just the beginning.

Ladies Christmas Night...

During the Christmas break there were only a few of us ladies left here in Ulsan... so we had a small get together... which turned out to be a great night of laughter... I just love making memories with new friends...

Just like the Christmas party in Singapore... we had to bring back the fake fireplace...

And here's the tree again.. he he he

Remembering Texas...

One of my favorite things about Christmas... are the cards...  I love seeing the faces of our people and their families (even if it has been years)... and we keep them so I bring out the pile every year and love to compare them from year to year... to watch people have their first child, see people get married, graduate, become a grandparent, get a dog, etc... love it all.

December Misc...

Just some random pics from December... that definitely need to be on the blog...

Sometimes you just got to go with the flow... this boy is so patient... this is how I found him after we dropped Pierce off at school... he is asleep in this picture... a little spit up, hat falls in front of face... what best to do... go to sleep.

Pierce got a little nutcracker from JuJu and KW... he loves it.

Sometimes your head is so big a hat just does not fit... but your still cute...

Have I mentioned... I had a tree this year... loved it.

Just some shots of the condo... some holiday cheer...

Bible study on occasion turns into lunch... yummy... duck and pumpkin....

Thanks Jennifer for the cute monkey attached to the pacie...

ViVi and Grandad sent us this really neat advent calendar... each day there is a craft/story/illustration/activity and a prayer... loved it... a keeper for sure.

And thanks to Nana... Pierce got to do his advent calendar on the computer again this year... he loves this advent calendar and every year they get better and better...

Man it was cold in Dec.... all bundled up and ready to go to school.

I had drinks one morning at SB with a friend and I forgot the pacifier for Asher... so I used the next best thing.. and he totally fell a sleep... sweet baby.

100% Baby... made in Singapore...

Amen... C.S. Lewis said it so well...

A great gift for sure...

We have a tree this year...

Since we have lived overseas we have yet to have a proper Christmas tree... and this year I wanted one... I would like to blame in on the kids (that they need a proper tree like I had one growing up) but truth be told I was being selfish... I needed a tree... all of our Christmas decorations are still back in Texas (we have a few that either have been shipped to us as presents over the year and or collected) and we did not have anything for a tree.... so I was either going to have buy them from Costco (BOOOO) or beg my mom to ship me a box... it did not take much begging... she was glad to help (she totally understands)... I was so excited about this box coming that I would check everyday at the guard house just to make sure I did not miss it... well it finally came and here are some pics... My mom is so talented... don't you think... she knew exactly what to ship me....

Oh yeah... also Pierce got his 25 days of Christmas... the presents are all wrapped and numbered and he gets to open a present every day... he totally remembers this... so excited.

Bought a tree at Costco and Pierce helped me fluff... Asher was a spectator...

What a joy to have a proper Christmas tree, to have my family and a mom and dad that love us so much to ship a huge package of decorations... don't tell customs :-).
