A must before we left...

A just before we left Singapore... setting our pets free... yes we have two turtles that we have grown quite fond to.  Tita brought these things home from the market one day and there were actually more than 2 but only "David and Goliath" survived all the months.  We have grown to really care about these things... they even had play dates on Saturday where they were set free on the balcony and could have a good time out of their bowl.  We asked friends if anyone wanted them but we had zero takers... so we set them free... into a big body of water... I was not even sure if they could swim but we did not know what else to do.

So here we are taking them to their new home...  Gillian was the photographer and she did a great job catching the moment (which was kindof sad for me).

We found the perfect spot... somewhere wet but a place they could climb out if needed...

The handoff... Pierce wanted to be the one to set them free...

First was Goliath and he dove straight down and I could see him sitting on the bottom... swimming a little but I am sure he was a bit in shock.  Now David was a different story (lives up to his name)... we dumped him into the big body of water and he was a swimming fool and just skimmed the surface and checked everything out.

Once the turtles were good we feed them some more... and then we went for a walk to feed the other turtles (with the left over food we had)... a great last fun in Singapore.

Check out these two... so cute...

Now that is one big turtle...

Gillian and I were commenting afterwards that if these two get married (which we would love) we will have some great photos of them...

Not a great pic of me... but what do you do... I wanted to share this photo bc you can see Pierce's nervous twitch that he has picked up recently... he does it all the time... no not touching the belly (I love that)... the chewing on the shirt... He picked this up when Daddy started traveling and has not stopped since... hoping that this will go away soon.

After the park and goodbyes... back at the Unruhs for some drawing and fun.

A bike tour around Nusa Dua...

On Saturday morning ViVi and Grandad wanted to go on a bike tour to see more of Nusa Dua... someone needed to stay with Pierce so my sweet hubby volunteered... and I got to go on the bike ride too... it was really neat and a great way to see some of the city...

And if you know ViVi... we of course had to stop and do some shopping... mom was negotiating and I was scratching mossie bites...

Some great scenery along the way... we stopped at the harbor...

The guy in white was our tour guide and he had been doing this (and even made up the tour) for 8 years... he was super nice and a great leader... he even carried around my moms purchase the entire time... so sweet.

We got to see lots of temples... but were not allowed to go in without the correct attire...

here is just one of the trails that we were one... we would have never discovered these paths without our tour guide... we even at one point had to cross a river that was dried up bc of the time of day (low tide) but he said in a couple of hours we could not cross over... so fun...now that is traveling local style...

One of the stops was a turtle farm... where they raise sea turtles and then place them back into the ocean...

They also had other animals to touch and feel... yuck...

They had this snakes mouth taped shut... I was not very confident in the scotch tape remedy but we made it out of there safe and sound.

Here are some shots while I was riding the bike... so they are not great but you get the idea... tour guide in front, ViVi next, then me and then Grandad

We were not really excited about how close the cars were next to us...

Our path back to the hotel... home sweet home...

A great tour, morning and exercise... lets do it again.

Take 2 for cats and turtles...

Take 2... we got Singa back and more turtles...

In regards to the turtles... the story is short... ViVi and Grandad bought Pierce some turtles and mama was not so good at taking care of them... so quickly we had no turtles even after a couple of trips to the turtle doctor to get more and get some drops.... well now thanks to Tita we have 4 new ones... and they are doing great. Tita is a much better care taker to turtles than I ever was... they are happy and I have a feeling we will have 4 BIG turtles soon.
Also Singa is a back... and we sure do love having her with us... Our friends here in Singapore travels alot with her hubby and we get to keep Singa and Pierce and her are best buds...
Though the next picture looks like he is strangling her... I clicked to late they were sitting there for a while and Pierce rubs her under her chin and she loves it.

This might be a little condo... but now our family is 9 strong... you do the math :-)

Meet Freeze and Jumper!

Meet Freeze (the girl) and Jumper (the boy)... Pierce's new turtles... thanks to ViVi and Grandad we are the proud owners of dirty water, another task in the morning to feed mouths, another thing to clean, but after seeing the joy that these two little turtles bring Pierce... it is worth it... we love them already. Pierce wants to hold them all the time (so hopefully they will live a long life).

Here is Pierce opening his present... he had no idea what it was at first... but as soon as he figured it out... he was so excited... you have got to see the video below.

Holding the turtles... this is where the boy got his name "Jumper" bc he took a flying leap out of my hands.

There new home.... not sure if you can see it be we have fish as well... Dad and I just bought Pierce some fish right before everyone got here... we had no idea he was getting Turtles... ViVi and Grandad bought all the fixings back in America brought them here with them and then bought the turtles here. They had intended on getting fish but when they saw that we had fish already they made the necessary adjustments.

He wanted to take a pic with his new turtles... he looks mad in this pic but he was really mesmerized by them... they were in his room for a night but it was to cold in there so they are now next door neighbors to the fish.

Another new talent Pierce has is taking pictures... he gets my big Canon Power shot and takes pics like a pro... here is one of his shots of Vivi and Great Mama.

Here is proof that Pierce is taking the pics... a little fuzzy, ViVi so proud so she is taking pics of Pierce taking pics, Great Mama's eyes are closed and all three adults in the room are present in the picture.

Another shot from Pierce... I was changing his diaper and this was his view from below...

Here is the video of Pierce when he got his Turtles... Grandad was not able to be here when Freeze and Jumper were revealed so this video is for him.
