3rd Naming Ceremony in Korea... one more to go. March 2014

We really love the naming ceremonies here in Korea for many reasons.... The biggest being that one more mistress is gone and now on her way to make some money (great job guys) and the close second would be HHI really knows how to throw a party at the naming ceremonies. They are always so much fun filled with streamers, white gloves, lots of photos and several pats on the back... Hats off to the Noble and HHI team... they deserve this one.  Isn't she a beauty.

Meet the name sake... Mr Sam Croft

After the shipyard fun and ship tour... we head to lunch with the gang for speeches and gifts.  More fun... One of our VP's at Noble is a UT alumni.... and the last naming ceremony a 3 string band played "working on the rail road" and our VP got really excited and threw up "the longhorn sign".  As you can imagine in the oil business she was way outnumbered in the room.  So this naming ceremony Blake went to great lengths to get a new song and requested that it be played... have you ever heard a three string band play The TAMU fight song... The lady in the video that comes to speak with Blake is the VP I mentioned.  All in good fun.

After all the fun at the shipyard we all got in our cars and headed to Busan for the night for more fun and eating.  (thanks to some good friends here they stayed with the boys).  The next photos are of our hotel room (amazing) and the banquet to celebrate that night.

Taw Da... I got to wear my red dress.... :-)

This couple means the world to me... Meet Mr. President of HHI and his wife.  Blake is honored to have worked with him and I get emotional every time I think about how involved she was when I delivered Asher here in Korea.  They got word that Blake's wife was having a baby at the hospital and Mrs. President of HHI retired from and she contacted the hospital (told them to do a good job) for our benefit and she even came and visited me in the hospital.  She does not speak English but just having her smile and presence was enough to make me feel like I had a Korean mom in the room.  At this banquet I was not sure if I was going to see them again so I gave them both a big hug and thanked them from the bottom of my heart with tears in my eyes.  I think Mr. President felt so uncomfortable with my tears that he said "why don't we take a picture" and then he sent the following pic to Blake afterwards.  Sweet Sweet family...

They decorated so cool at our hotel I had to take pics... I love it all.

The second one is gone....

The Second mistress in Ulsan is gone... she left in August... and she was another beauty.  This time we had a big party to see her off and many where invited.  I was so honored to be one of the ones that only got to blow her horn but drink champagne in her honor.

This was a special night bc we had the dinner party in Busan and stayed in the night in a hotel (with no kids)... thanks to GM and GP the kids were in good hands.

The view from the place we had dinner.

They had a lot of entertainment that night but this was my favorite... sand art.  This lady was amazing and by using her graceful strokes of her finger tips, sand and light projector... waaalaaa... amazing.

Daddy's work party

Daddy and a couple of others put together this wonderful "Noble Family Party" for the employees here in Ulsan... a time to get together with family, have fun and say thanks.  We took about an hour and half drive through the mountains and ended up at this great hotel where we had a spot on their second floor deck.  It was a great day and fun hanging out with some of his co-workers.

Daddy was the MC... he said a quick thanks and then off to the games we went.  Blake and I came up with all the games which consisted of frozen t-shirt contest, beans in a bowl and bubble race.

I love this picture bc it shows Pierce stuffing his face while looking on at daddy with admiration.

Both boys paying close attention to daddy.

This is the frozen t-shirt contest where each contestant was handed a frozen t-shirt that was rolled very tightly and felt like a brick.  The first person to get it pried open and on their body was the winner.  All the contestants had frozen fingers at the end... was a very fun game.

This picture is of the beans in the bowl contest and it consisted of the contestants sitting on beans in a chair and having to put them in a bowl that was under their chair with no hands... fun to watch.

The picture below shows the contestants digging in a plate full of whip cream for a piece of bubble gum.  Once the gum was in the mouth the first person to blow a bubble was the winner.  Not as easy as it sounds.

After the party... we went exploring the area and Pierce founds some friends... he started an ant collection.

Then we came upon this beautiful stage which had some saxophone players... amazing.

I love this boy...

There was a great stroll along the water... a beautiful day.

Ulsan Spring Festival

The Spring Festival was our first "outing" last year when we arrived and we had a great time... meeting people and being in the sun but not sweating... and this year was even better.  Having been here a year now we knew a lot more people and got to hang with friends and let the kids play... it was a blast.. and this year we were team read (a lot better than last years yellow)...

First race belongs to the kids... check this out and you know the community plate at the end always makes me gag.
In the kids race this year Pierce got a bubble blower... Asher loved it.

And we have surrogate grandparents... they miss their grandkids and we miss our grandparents so it is a win win for all... And Asher and Greg are really cute together.

The infamous people toss... it is a wonder how no one gets major hurt during this race... wow

Asher took all of his naps just like this... my little bubbie... could eat him up.

My big boys getting ready for the three legged race... and this is daddy trying not to get annoyed at me as I am begging him to remember that Pierce is 6 and has shorter legs than him and to please not rip off his leg or break it in the process of trying to win.

A video to see how they did...
Our friend Megan is here for work and she is alone since her fiance is back in Texas... she is a fellow Aggie so we have adopted her as our own.

Friends... our husbands are all on different projects hence the different colors... but we didn't let that stop us from hanging out most of the day.

Blake leading some relay group...

Asher is not so happy here... forget what was happening but I am sure he got over it.

You remember the race that grossed me out... yeah we did it again this year...

We just noticed that Asher was getting his top teeth... wow...

A great day in the sun... with friends... looking forward to next year.
