Asher at 13 mos. (sept 2013)

Asher was 13 months old back in Sept 2013 and oh boy what fun we had.  Asher was really starting to get more steady on his feet but when he felt like he needed to go faster he really mastered the crawling. Asher still had a strong desire for all balls... any ball shaped thing really.  He really loves to play with his brother and brother really loves to play with him.  Pierce would say things like he really plays with me now and I love him so much.

Things he is doing now at 13 mos:
-  Pushing Objects
- Walking with some assistance
- Throwing arms up when he wants down
- Clapping Yeah
- Waving bye bye
- Started holding toys in hands
- Responding to questions and statements

I am always vacuuming with the hand help vacuum and Asher will come running every time he hears it... He loves to act like he is cleaning (but this soon died out... he now has no interest... I was hoping he liked to clean).

Look at the below resemblance or lack there of...

Asher at 13 mos                                                                                 Pierce at 12 mos

For Christmas Asher got this airplane sit along toy and he loves pushing all the buttons and moving it along.  He still had not mastered how to get on and off so he does get frustrated at times but we are getting there.

This is the month that I really noticed that Asher has to have things in his hands at all times (just like brother).  He usually needs two things but is happy with one.

Random Sept. 2013 Fun.

In Sept 2013 Pierce had a day where they learned more Korean traditions which is always fun.  Here are some photos of some of the fun.  I forget what this type of wrestling is called but here Pierce's teacher is wrestling with another teacher.

Here the boys are trying it out... Pierce did not win this match up but was a good sport about it.

A friend of ours sent us this picture they found in the Alumni Center at TAMU.  It is a picture of our first Muster in Singapore back in 2009.
In hopes in trying to get fit at home Pierce and I will do these workout videos together... he is such a sweet boy to join me in my new ideas.

Doesn't that just look good... reminds me of my mama's cooking.

We also in Sept went on a bunch of hikes and this one in particular we found a very good camouflaged frog... can you find him?

These are all so random so I will have to talk about this one too.  Pierce brings home "readers" so he can practice reading at home... we were reading this one together and look what I saw... a diagram explaining that the stinger on a bumble bee is on his nose... WHAT?????

Our little mover and shaker.  He is so proud that he can lift up this stool... I even love that he puts it back where it belongs.

And Pierce had a sleep over... boys will be boys... they had to have a bubble bath together.

4am Aggie vs. Alabama game

Football season is over but I have to write about the TAMU vs. Alabama game... due to our big win last year and all the hype this year we wanted to a have a party at our house with all our Aggie friends (and wanna be's).  The trick was we wanted to watch it live which meant it would be on at 4am Korea time.  So we sent the invite out and all were coming.  Even our good friends the Faske's spent the night the night before so we could leave the kids in bed while we watched kick off and the first couple of innings.  We ended up loosing but it was a great morning of more memories here in Ulsan.
This little one woke up to a bunch of people and was not sure what to think.

Didn't take long for the kids to wake up with all the hooting and hollering.

A fun group of friends for sure.

It just makes me smile when I walk in our laundry room and see all this maroon.

Just a little extra preview of our little man dressed up... still not sure what he wants to be.

Here is a shot of all the boys the night before the big game... Mr. Kevin reading them a bed time story.

HFC Chuseok Event 2013... who will be the King and Queen?

Chuseok (Korean: 추석),[1] originally known as hangawi (한가위, from archaic Korean for "the great middle (of autumn)"), is a major harvest festival and a three-day holiday in Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. Like many other harvest festivals, it is held around the AutumnEquinox. As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their ancestral hometowns and share a feast of Korean traditional food such as songpyeon and rice wines such as sindoju and dongdongju.

In honor of this celebration FLIK company puts together a fashion show where they ask Foreigners to dress in traditional Korean Hanboks.  Blake and I were asked to model... little did we know that we would be asked to wear these...

We had to show up the night before for a dress rehearsal and then get their early on the day of to get dressed, get make-up and hair done.  Here is Blake with his undergarments... doesn't he look so happy.
Koreans use these really hair pins to decorate their hair.  I asked the lady that brought all the clothes (she has a hanbok store) how much these are... and she said they range from low hundreds to high hundreds of dollars...

Here are some hand made shoes for the little girl in the show.  I will get a pair of these for me before

We had no idea what we were going to dress up as... we definitely did not expect to be King and Queen of the night...

Here we are... all the models waiting to take the cat walk...

Some of the people thought the below boy was Pierce... but it is not.  He name is Wesley but he looked very similar to Pierce.  They had similar mannerisms and Wesley is 10 so there were so many differences.

They had some performances before the models...

The Kids took the stage first.

Then the adults.

These two were to represent brides...

The lady in yellow was to represent a dancer (similar to our US flapper)

This couple was to represent a King and Queen on a normal day.

This couple was to represent to King and Queen at a royal happening.

We barely fit on stage with our head dress (which cost about 10,000 USD)...

Everyone back out for one last bow.

Blake and I felt like celebrities after the event.... everyone wanted to take pics with us (as the King and Queen).

It was a fun night and definitely added some great memories to those that we already hold so dear to in our life here in Korea.

Video of the King and Queen on our first debut...
