25 days of Christmas... Love from home.... Dec 2013

ViVi and GD always make Christmas for us so special (even through the miles)... they work hard all year finding 25 presents for the boys to open each day in Dec leading up to Christmas.  This was the first year they had 2 grandkids to buy for... so a total of 50+ presents showed up on our doorstep late November and when it arrived, Pierce knew exactly what it was...  The gifts are wrapped in different paper, one for Pierce and the other for Asher, then they have numbers on them from 1 - 25.  We place them under the tree and let the kids find the number that matches the date and open it up.  It was so much fun and Asher had a blast for his first time.  Brother did the finding and then Asher got the hang of opening his own packages.
Pierce got lots of fun cool stuff and some of his favorites were all the puzzles.

Asher got a lot of books and stuffed animals, those were by far his favorite.

Thank you VIVI and GD for loving on us in this way... it is always so much fun and much appreciated.

Thanksgiving 2013 (Nov 2013)

Thanksgiving in Korea was not like your traditional thanksgiving... it was hard to find turkeys, gourds, pecan pies, and more... but with the amazing community of Americans we have here it turned out something special.  The boys dressed up with their matching pilgrim shirts and we had a weekend of eating and fun.  There were two different festivities, one on Saturday on the compound for all that wanted to bring a dish to share and then another after church on Sunday.  Such a great time to get together and celebrate the season of thankfulness.

Thanks to Kathy May we were able to bring these cute little turkey cupcakes... oh how I miss all those cute little fun holiday activities in the states.

Asher 15 mos (Nov 2013)

Asher at 15 mos... oh what a joy.  Asher had really gotten the hang of moving around and becoming a mess.  It was around this time that he got a new nickname "A Mess"... his korean babysitter at one point asked me what does "mess" mean and so I displayed a mess by using some play cars that were near.  I lined them all up and said "no mess" and then I mixed them all us and said "mess".  She made a face, looked at me and said "we (koreans) don't speak negative to our children"... I tried to explain to her this was a term of endearment really and that it was not meant to be negative but it truly captures his joyful, playful side... He is a mess and loves to make one.  I say that in the most loving way possible... We love our little mess.

We love Happy Baby Photography who did the below pics of Asher.  They love accessories... we brought the outfits and they added the hats... Got to love it.  All of these clothes were Pierce's clothes when he was this age and am so thankful that we have these clothes with us here in Korea.

Mr. Milford turns 40!... Nov 2013

Pierce's teacher turned 40 back in November 2013 and boy did we have fun celebrating his big day... He is such a great teacher for many reasons but one is that he loves these kids and it really does not matter what they do to him but he still loves them... We ate some cake, played some games and dressed Mr. Milford for his big day.

All the kids had written a letter to Mr. Milford (in secret) and then they read their card to him.

We played a game called pass the parcel but instead of the kids getting a present each time they got an article of clothing to put on Mr. Milford... by the end of the game he looked like a big clown.
