Pierce's belated birthday party... a construction site...

Pierce's birthday is in Jan.. but we were in Texas so we have had a couple of small parties until this past weekend when we had the BIG one... while in Texas I bought all the party supplies and my parents brought them to us when they came... we had a "Construction Party"... I was torn on what to do for his party this year bc he is so into Transformers, super hero's, spiders, etc... and the occasional truck... but I wanted his party to be some what cute and fun too... he is only 3... not 10... so when I talked with my good friend Shelly she said you have the next 10 years to have a themed party that he wants so why don't you just do something you like too. So we had a Construction party... with yellow tape, hard hats, dump trucks and more... oh what fun.

We had the party at our condo function hall so the kids could make a mess and swim all at the same time...

Here are some pics of the party.

When Pierce walked in I think he was on overload... all his people in one room and all this truck stuff.. he loved it... see he's even wearing his tractor shirt and Ben 10 watch that Cena gave him.

One of the first things he did was get on his new 'Big Jake"... still having some issues with pedaling (he just does not want to do it... we know he can but he refuses)... so we sit and push it alot.

There was a coloring station with lots of construction trucks on it... the kids seemed to enjoy this table... even the big kids.

So thankful that Grandad and Vivi were there for the party.

My friend Jennifer offered to make this cake for his party... I told her one day that I had an invitation for her and her 5 children and she said "do you want me to make the cake"... are you kidding me... "heck ya"... and check this cake out... It could not have been more perfect... we just love you Jennifer... thank you bunches... with 5 kids she has had alot of practice...

Still on the tractor...

Finally he came to the table to color and have some juice...

And then he spotted the presents... before eating he ran over there to get a present... the deal was one present and then the rest later...

This is Pierce showing you how old he is... it took him forever to learn the 3 fingers... I was trying to teach him to touch his thumb to his pinkie and it just want not working... my mom suggested touching his pointer to his thumb and wallah... he did it... thank you ViVi.

Now time for some pool fun...

Anyone ready for some cake.... I never thought we would get everyone back together again... boy was I wrong... one look at the cake and they came a runnin... and yes it was that good.

We have several traditions on Pierce's birthday and he is only 3... one of them is that Pierce has to be wearing a hat of some kind... you can see this blog post here about that.... and then we have to get a family pic around the cake with Pierce's hat on... you can see last years here... and the only other one is that he has to have something he can ride or sit on that goes with the theme... check out last years here...

With one blow... they were out... hope you get your wish this year sweet baby.

I can't remember what we were clapping about here but I thought it was a cute picture...

Back inside riding the tractor... Mr. Jamey was convinced to teach Pierce how to pedal.

More hugs... and more presents.

Here is every one's art from the day...

and one more ride... Pierce calls Violet his girlfriends so this was their official ride together... he literally picked her up...

Happy 3rd Birthday sweet Pierce... more of our words for you on your 3rd birthday here.

Thanks to everyone that celebrated with us and making it the best day ever... we love you all.

Going to and fro...

Since Jan. 2nd our family has been literally traveling around the world... although we will always consider this a blessing to be able to see some incredible places there are always some challenges when traveling with a 3 year old...blessings and challenges.
To get from Singapore to Texas takes about 27+ hours and to get our little man comfortable, to eat, to sleep and behave on such a long journey is tough and we are willing to do what ever it takes... on the way to Texas in Jan. Pierce did great (I have not written about this yet bc when we arrived to Texas it was a surprise to most so we could not write about so 2 months later here we go)... He was awake most of the time but there was a period on our second leg where he fell asleep in his car seat and usually he will get tired of sleeping in the sitting position and just get really mad and wake up so while he was asleep we picked him up and placed him in the seat... were he continued to sleep in our seat for 4+ hours until the seat belt sign went off due to turbulence... we had to wake him up bc Daddy was standing in the back reading a magazine for 4 hours and he needed a sleep and I was sitting in his car seat watching a movie for 4+ hours and his car seats seat belt would not fit me... HE HE HE...
While I was in the seat Blake got a great (terrible) picture of me... I look monstrous in this little chair but it was quite comfortable for 4 hours... but I do have to say that when I got back in my seat later I have never been more thankful for an airplane seat.

All in all Pierce did great on the way there.. when we arrived to the airport we got a taxi and Pierce passed out again... he was so tired that he even stayed asleep while we carried him still in his car seat out of the taxi to place him in the stroller while we unloaded the bags.
He stayed a sleep for another hour while we got settled into the house... we had to wake him up to do our first errand to Target... oh how I love Target (and already miss it so).
Look at all those bags....
That night we were up as long as we could make it... playing with Grace and the toys at Aunt JuJu's house... and of course while we were at Target we had to get this Spiderman t-shirt...Pierce picked it out of course... hence the size...
We all did well staying up which helped us get over jet lag pretty easily... we did make the couch our home but our eyes were open...

I know this is really late blogging but I just found these pics and forgot that I have not put them in my blog life book yet... this makes me miss home again but reminds me how hard it is to get there... so until next time... we will rest up...

So glad to see Daddy...

After the game we all headed back to JuJu and KW's house but Pierce was long asleep... so the next morning was fun seeing him get his hands on his daddy and vice versa... they were instant buddies.. and with daddy being so tired they watch alot of movies together...
The last week we were in Houston Pierce was going to a mother's day out program and he needed a mat to rest on... and sweet JuJu came to rescue she had picked up this sleeping mat for Pierce a while back but little did she know that it would be a life saver.... and it is so cute... of course covered in A&M logos... GiG'em and thanks JuJu and KW... you can tell by the pics that Pierce loved it...

From nose bleeds to hard woods...

With Houston being our home town we are fans of the basketball team the Houston Rockets... Blake and I typically sit way up in the nose bleeds but having the Williams as a sister and brother -n-law has many advantages and this is just one of them... They are a blessing to so many people in so many ways but one way they love on people are being the human version of "ticketmaster"... they have some of the best seats for the Rockets and while we were in town Blake and I went from the nose bleeds to the hard wood floors...

Before the game we stopped in their suite to have some good food and get pumped up for the game...

The great thing about this night is that we had good seats yes but this was the first time that I had seen Blake in 5 weeks... he had been working in the gulf on the rig and I was traveling around Texas visiting friends and family... his plane landed, a taxi dropped him off at the game with bags in tow and we picked him up to go to the game... It was so good to see him... long hair and all.

Check out these seats... right behind the camera people that are sitting on the floor (no chair)... pretty cool to be that close but I was paying attention the whole time to make sure that no one landed in our laps...Here are some of the pictures we got of the fabulous night.

Pierce loves this picture... the mascot...

And someday he will love this picture... but not yet Thank God.

Terrible picture of me but my man looks good... I love the long hair... lets just say that the next day it was cut off...

The half time show is always my favorite part of a basketball game... everyone else likes to leave during this time and go to the restroom and get drinks but I love talent and these guys were talented...

Not sure if you can tell but his spinning on his head while taking his coat off at the same time...

The 3 of us... Keith could not make it that night... we missed you and thanks to JUJU and Uncle KW for the seats and a great night...
