Day 6 - another day in Thailand!

Day 6 (day 2 in Thailand) was a long and busy one...and man was it getting hotter in Thailand...

We decided to hire a private van with a driver for 5 hours to show us Koh Samui and all the main attractions... boy were w clueless on what he was about to show us... it was a great tour and well worth it.

When we arrived in Thailand, Chris said he wanted to see a Monk... so at our first stop we ran into the float with a monk on top of it spraying people with holy water...

Busy Koh Samui, Thailand.

One of our stops we went to the see the largest Buddha on the island.....

And look another monk...

We had to take off our shoes and climb all the stairs... and the view that awaited us was amazing...

Check out that view...

The next picture is for Julie... you love bougainvilleas check out this tree... they grew a tree and then grew a bougainvillea in it and made it look like a tree with gorgeous blooms... we might have to try this... nice huh?

We made a little stop at a 'sight seeing spot'... beautiful water and islands in the background. Pierce did not want to look at the camera bc it was so bright outside...

Our next stop was to see the famous "grandfather" and "grandmother" rock formations... we had no idea what this was going to be... I will let you use your imagination to figure out why they call the structures what they do.

This is the "grandfather".

and this is the "grandmother".... wow not sure how I feel about these...

Othen than the obscene structures that we came to see, most of it was beautiful ...

Then we got back in the van and headed to the monkey show and to get some fresh coconut juice.
The monkey messed up my hair (HE HE HE)... he was not about to bite us he was yawning...

Double fisting it... one of these is good for me and one is not... can you guess which one?

Then we headed to the see the mummified monk... we could not find any information to say when this monk died or how old he was... it was a place of worship so we took a few pics and then got out of there... the whole thing was a bit creepy.

Then off we went to ride some elephants... we had lunch first at the elephant park which was not bad and of course as soon as Pierce saw the elephants we had to take a ride... and Chris is just like a kid of course he wanted to go too... so off we went...

After 5 hours we thought it was time to head home... we were all hot and tired... Pierce fell asleep on the ride home and let me carry him all the way to the hotel (without waking up) but as soon as I laid him in bed he woke up... oh well I guess a 15 min nap is better than no nap at all.

A babysitter came to play with him and watch him rest in the room... while mommy went to the spa for a hot rock massage and Chris went to the pool.

That night we headed to the beach for some dinner (which was excellent) and then we walked on the beach... Pierce really likes to take a walk after ever dinner... so cute... and what a night to walk on the beach...

At dinner Pierce (or Chris :-))was serenaded by this group... they sang an American song and she sang beautifully.
We got to do a lucky lantern... there were people on the beach selling them and they would light them and let them go and then you make a wish... none of us shared our wishes with the other... our little secret.
Video of our Lucky Lantern... what a great tradition.

After our walk we put Pierce to bed and then Chris and I headed back out to the beach to enjoy the night life... they have these great little places where you can lie down and enjoy the night sky and music in the distance... we meet some neat people and got entertained by locals trying to sell us stuff or get us to take a picture with their pets or little local kids that wanted to play games with us and if we won they would pay us and they won we would pay them... I am smarter than that... they would have kicked my bottom for sure.

One more day left (not really but that is what we thought on day 2)... see you tomorrow.

Day 6 - ZOO

Day 6 - Thursday... Pierce was not in school so we all packed up and headed to the zoo... JuJu really enjoyed the zoo last time and wanted to go back and it probably was one of the best trips to the zoo... we skipped the kid water area and just hung out with all the animals. The Singapore Zoo is the best zoo I have ever been too... you can get right up and personal with alot of the animals and it is huge... we saw alot of animals, petted some, had a great lunch, rode the train and more....

Our favorite attraction... the white tigers... are they not just gorgeous...

We soon made our way to feed the kangaroo's... what a treat....

Then off the elephant show... last time Pierce saw this we were with JuJu a year ago and he was little scared of them... but he is so mesmerized now he was still and quiet for 30 min.

We had to see the Butterfly Walk bc Pierce loves insects... I was a little disappointed in this walk bc we saw maybe 2 or 3 butterflies but it was after lunch and it was getting hot... so they might have been hiding..

We love the zoo... need to go more... but as JuJu says we will be so disappointed when we move back to America bc this one rocks.... and it does...

Elephant Show in Bintan!

We went to see an Elephant Show and this is what we got when we arrived... beautiful men and women greeting us to the show.

To our left was this man sitting holding an enormous snake... see the sign next to him.. pay $2 for a picture... I got this one for free.. but later we got a family picture.

Here we are waiting for the show... we were not the only ones there but we did get there first...

Here Brooklyn was dancing to the music... Pierce was glued to mommy and daddy... not so sure.

They asked for volunteers to come and learn a new dance... well you know I had to go... that is me on the far left.

And here comes the elephants... pretty cool.

These two are in love... we hold hands and they hold trunks.

Mark and Blake thought this was the coolest part... they stood and turned on these post like little ballerina's. Pretty amazing.

And they play basketball.

Here we are sitting on the elephant... he liked us bc we just fed him some bananas.

They have math skills... Mark volunteered for this... He gave the elephant a math problem (5+3) and the elephant brought him the #8... now you figure that one out.

They can walk over people (the were volunteers from the crowd... crazy) with the gentlest stride and ever so cautious calculation of their next step... pretty cool and the trainer told us not to try this in the wild... NO KIDDING.

Then the Carr's went for a ride... we got a ride in Thailand so we decided to sit out and take pictures.

The Carr clan.

Here is our clan with the snake... this snake was so strong... and a bit scary. Pierce was not so sure... but he did at one point dig his fingers into the snake accidentally...

Pierce and I dancing with the elephants... check out those huge animals moving to the beat (I am talking about the elephants... HE HE HE).

A couple of elephants playing the harmonica... amazing.

This is awesome... a huge elephant running and playing football(what Americans call soccer). You can even hear Blake's reaction on the video... He thought this was pretty cool.
