Football season is over but I have to write about the TAMU vs. Alabama game... due to our big win last year and all the hype this year we wanted to a have a party at our house with all our Aggie friends (and wanna be's). The trick was we wanted to watch it live which meant it would be on at 4am Korea time. So we sent the invite out and all were coming. Even our good friends the Faske's spent the night the night before so we could leave the kids in bed while we watched kick off and the first couple of innings. We ended up loosing but it was a great morning of more memories here in Ulsan.
This little one woke up to a bunch of people and was not sure what to think.
Didn't take long for the kids to wake up with all the hooting and hollering.
A fun group of friends for sure.
It just makes me smile when I walk in our laundry room and see all this maroon.
Just a little extra preview of our little man dressed up... still not sure what he wants to be.
Here is a shot of all the boys the night before the big game... Mr. Kevin reading them a bed time story.
Thanks to my parents I got to go to College Station Kid Free... which was a huge blessing so I could hang out with my friend Kathy May and just get to love on her (with no distractions)... I also got to see an old friend from College.
From the beginning... I left FTW with the kids in good care and hit the road (just like when I was in college leaving Thanksgiving festivities in FTW and headed back to school). I was feeling good had the stereo turned up and I was enjoying the scenery of the freeway and then all of a sudden traffic... terrible traffic. We were being routed off of the freeway and crawling about 5 mph. I called Kathy and told her what was going on and if she had any other suggestions of how I should get to CS... and she said "I know you are frustrated"... and I told her "how could I possibly be frustrated... I was all alone with no kids, not in a rush, I got the music turned up (my music) and no one needed me... life could not be better and I was not going to let this detour change that... I even rolled down the window and said hello to the officers (now if I had the kids with me that would not have been the case I am sure)... So off we went on an unknown adventure but 30 minutes later I was back on track.
I finally made it to CS and parked on campus and immediately noticed that it was move in day for the the freshman... Oh it was so exciting looking at all the family decked out in maroon, carrying maps of the campus and smiling from the ear the ear (well at the least the kids and the dads, the moms you could see little tears in their eyes). I walked across campus to go to my old stomping grounds of where I use to work for 3 years, Harrington Tower. I meet up with Kathy and got to see some professors I use to work with. Then Kathy and I went for a walk to see the new MSC and see all the changes. It was a great day filled with many memories.
Right outside Harrington Tower there is a statue with bricks at the feet of it... one of the bricks was for Sara May.
It looks a little different but still the same old flag room... I spent lots of time on those couches hanging out with fellow Aggies for Christ... great times.
After a night of catching up, Kathy and I headed to Sara's plot to spend sometime remembering our sweet Sara and having a good cry together.
Icing on the cake.. I got to have a Starbucks with my dear friend Paige. What a great 24 hours... I wish I could do this all the time... and the best thing about going to college station and seeing these people it does not matter how much time goes by, we can pick up where we left off... very special for sure.
The grandparents love the random iPhone pics... so here are A LOT more from April...
the boys are really growing up
Asher eating some good food... and banging (he does this when he wants more and when he is happy)
The next video is cute bc it shows our little man and how he loves his food... man he can focus on the smallest piece of food left on a spoon.
And our big boy loves to read... read... read...
We got some fun adventure kits from Aunt JuJu where Pierce gets to be a detective as he travels the world and find clues... he loves them and will sit down for hours with his books and map and solve all the problems to get more clues.
GM and GP sent some plants for Easter... fun times as we watched them grow.
We have a friend from Singapore that opened up a home in Mongolia that takes in street kid boys... they asked for some clothes, so we got a bunch of donations from friends at the compound and sent them off.
Pierce has a good friend that lives in the next condo across the street and they spend a lot of time playing together... They are the same age but in different classes and get a long really well.
A video of all the fun the boys were having together...
Also under our condo they opened up a Block School.... where you can go and pick out a Lego set and sit for hours and build it with the help of sweet ladies that walk around and help the children. Pierce loves going there with his friend.
And as most of you know there was a bit of concern last month about North Korea and much anticipation on their next move... and with B and I talking about it at home and kids on the playground... Pierce got word that we might need protection... she one day he got suited up and told me "He would protect our family".. I feel much safer now.
Look I found in Ashers bed AGAIN...
We do a lot of clowning around... Pierce figured this out one day by using the two mirror cabinets in the bathroom... who would have thought we have our very own funny house.
The weather has gotten so nice.. and we were just out for a nice stroll....
He might be chewing on bed rails and starting to move around a lot... but he still falls a sleep in my arms (at times).. and I love every minute of it...
Have I mentioned that it is spring time... look at these trees... breath taking.
And we had a baby shower for a good friend... baby Esther... I can't wait for her and Asher to play together.
We got a new play mat for Asher's patio... and he loves it...
And some of the most exciting news... we have another niece... so happy to be an aunt (uncle, cousin) to baby Bailey.... isn't she cute...
Date night with my favorite big brother... a special time with him for sure... he was so excited all day to get mommy all to himself... and so was I....
For several months now we have been attending a new church called Bloom... where we stream in FaithBridge sermons from the states and meet at the clubhouse. The church has grown and we are so blessed by all of our sisters and brothers... Look at all the children... a couple of weeks ago we had to make two Sunday school rooms... God is good.
And of course Aggie Muster... we honored our fallin' Aggie brothers and sisters here in Ulsan.
This muster we held at our friends house... Blake could not attend which was sad but I was so happy to hold our newest member as he slept and hear our eldest read out "the call to muster" for the group. It brought tears to my eyes... what a great tradition to teach our children.
And these leggings... need I say more????
Ready for school... the hair is getting a little out of control but he's still pretty cute.
Looks like we got another one who likes to read.
I have been waiting for this moment... when you put your kid in a white shirt for school and as you do it you realize that it will not come back while but you are running too late to change it... so here is the end product... why are their sneaker prints on his shirt... yes he was stepped on... a new game at school... not sure about that one...
Pierce has moved up several levels in reading... he is now on the Gold level... look at all those words...
