Kota Kinabalu - Day 4 (last one)

On the last day we had to check out at 3pm (our flight was at 6pm) so we decided to take advantage of our last day there. We hired a babysitter to play with Pierce in the Kids Club and Daddy and Mama headed to the beach/pool for some relaxation and sun.

We started a tradition on our honeymoon where Blake takes a picture of me doing a cartwheel on the beach... we have missed alot of opportunities for we have been blessed to see alot of gorgeous beaches but we did not forget this time.
Here was the first of our tradition on our honeymoon in San Juan.

Blake also got to enjoy another day playing some volleyball... I was going to join him but I saw a hut with my name on it.
This is where I was sipping on a nice cold drink.

Here is just a random video I had to show you from our 3rd day... There was the local guy would had made a remote control truck suitable for sand (big tires, all the gears were well covered, etc.) Pierce had so much fun chasing it around... pretty cool you have to check it out.
Our little friends were there to say goodbye... we miss Malaysia already... the sad thing is we are not sure we will ever get to go back. There are so many other amazing countries/island/etc. around here that we want see so to go back to Malaysia would keep us from experiencing another new place... so goodbye Malaysia... you were good to us.

Kota Kinabalu - Day 3, Part 2

After nap on the 3rd day we headed to the beach... the first day I was not a fan of the beach bc there seemed to be debris everywhere, there were jellyfish everywhere and Pierce was a mad man wanting to get in the water (but I was not about to get in with all the jellyfish).... but by the third day he seemed to just enjoy the sand and the scenery... there were lots of things to play with on the beach...

Like some sail boats and wave runners.

Volleyball with Daddy.

Trying to serve... did not make it very far but a great effort.

Just checking it all out....daddy was teaching him how the steering works... way to go daddy.. every op is a learning opportunity... right?

Just a beautiful place.

Then we had to play some more soccer.

We had a couple of fits... but as soon as he got the ball back he was better.

Then we found some crabs.

We might need to teach Pierce how to be gentle... what do you think? But I am happy to report that when he finally let the crab go.... the crab was still intact.

Look what I got.... he was so proud. Can't really see it bc they were tiny and transparent.

Now showing mama...

Our sunset on Day 3.

Daddy was finally feeling much better at the end of day 3 so we all got to have dinner together at the beautiful restaurant on the beach... not sure if you can tell but the air ducts are in the shape of an octopus and the light fixtures are jelly fish.... it was beautiful.
Last Day (Day 4) is next...

Kota Kinabalu - Day 3, Part 1

The morning of our third day in Malaysia... Blake woke up feeling a little better but still had a major headache but we all managed to get going and head to the Nature Reserve to see the Orang Utan's that were roaming freely at the resort. After a short video, applying lots of bug spray we started on our 10 minute journey into the jungle. Pierce soon got tired bc of the incline so I had to carry him the rest of the way. We soon made it to the platform and could not believe what we were seeing... check it out below.
Look how big Pierce looks with me holding him.
On of the tricks was we had to be very quiet on the trail so we would not scare the Orang Utans away... this is Pierce getting excited and Daddy trying to tell him "shhhh" with a big smile bc Pierce was being so cute.

This is what we saw... Baby Orang Utan's in a very natural environment eating like 30 feet away from us... it was amazing.

Then they decided to put on a show... so cute.

It was really hot and Pierce was getting a little testy (I think bc he could not get closer to the monkeys) but here Pierce is showing me where they are... over there mama.

Our trek back down... my two little men... oh how I love them and hope that Pierce grows up to be just like his daddy.

After our tour we headed to the pool to cool off... here is Blake just sitting in the pee pee water (far left side) at the base of the slide... poor guy I think he was doing all he could do just not to miss out on another minute of his vacation.

Pierce was being a little testy... grabbing ahold of children and not letting go (wanting to play)... and not listening to daddy... so while I was perched on my lounge chair I had to take a picture of Daddy having a little chat with Pierce and Pierce looking for mama for a rescue route.

Here is some of that "attitude" caught on video... wonder where he got this from? If you ask my parents they will say me but if you ask Blake they will say him... maybe Pierce is ours after all.

Come back tomorrow for Part 2 of Day 3... we did alot on this day... our last full day in Malaysia.

Kota Kinabalu - Day 2

Pierce woke up around 8am but Daddy and Mama were still wanting to be lazy... Daddy still did not feel well so Pierce climbed in bed and cuddled with daddy and ate an apple.

After breakfast we headed to the beach again. Pierce found a shovel and they soon became best friends.

Sand Sliding...

Not sure if you can see them... But Pierce stopped in his tracts as soon as he saw the AV's.

Here is Pierce trying to play soccer... we just were playing volleyball so he was confused about picking it up or keeping it on the ground... the cute thing about this video is how he says No... it is really drawn out and nasally.

After the beach, some pool time and a nap we all got cleaned up and headed to the Kid's Club. next door they have a small Nature Reserve with lots of animals. We had to take a picture of the goat standing on the turtle... wonder how they figured this out.

Look how big our little boy is.

Sunset for Day 2.
Day 3 just around the corner.

Kota Kinabalu - Day 1

Our Friday morning started at 6:30am to head to the airport... if you know us Pierce and I do not get up until 8 or 9am so this was early. As soon as Pierce found out we were getting on a plane he was fine and ready to go. After parking the car and checking in we had to play... did I mention it was like 7:30am... who can play like this that early... not me. But I left out a crucial part of the story.... back up... Thursday Blake stayed home for work with a 102 temp. and aches all over... he stayed in bed until 3pm (who can do that?)... as the day went on he was not getting much better... so Friday came early and hurt for poor Blake... that is why at the airport mama did all the playing, all the talking, all the chasing, all the feeding, all the changing, all the... well you get the point... bc I not only had one baby but two... Pierce played and Blake moaned in a chair and tried to look alive so he would not get kicked out of the airport since Singapore is on an ORANGE alert for the Swine Flu. We did not get kicked out and we were able to fly, but stay tuned on more details to come.

Here is Pierce playing... and playing and playing... in his pj's.

I just love how serious he is here... look at those puckered up lips.

The kids likes to slide...
We had an uneventful 2 hour flight to Malaysia... Blake slept and mom kept Pierce occupied... I was hoping I could just give him the DVD player (a.k.a. "the insurance") and call it a flight but the stupid thing was not charged (I had the voltage wrong when I plugged it in the night before... that's what you get for using American products in Asia)... so we played with book, crayons, water painting, play dough, and more... but we touched down before we even knew it... and we landed in another beautiful country... Malaysia.
Another 45 minute car ride and we arrived to the wonderful Kota Kinabalu Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort where these sweet men were playing some beautiful music.
Side Note: this pic was actually taken on the last day (hence the tan) but we could not get a pic of these guys when we arrived bc Pierce fell asleep in the car and I carried him to his bed as soon as we checked in.
Our beautiful room... one living room and one king size bedroom suite for THE DENTONS... with fresh fruit and fresh flowers... fit for a QUEEN.

Here is the view from our bedroom balcony... not to shabby.
Another view... keeps getting better.

It wasn't to long until we had to get our feet on the soft sand... and enjoy the beach.
This trip was spare of the moment... Blake needed a vacation and we had some friends that were headed to Malaysia... so after some looking into we booked the trip. Thanks to our friends Matt and Laura we ended up in Kota Kinabalu. They left their kids in Singapore (we were so jealous) so we did not get to hang out with them that much during the day and since Blake was sick our nights were kind of unpredictable but we did get to see our friends here and there... Blake went skiing with Matt, I ate dinner with them one night and we enjoyed some pool time together. They did leave a day before us (to get back to the kiddos) but we had a great time with them. Laura blogged about their trip here... if you want to see more pics of the trip go and check it out.

After seeing the place we had to get in the pool... and of course we headed straight for the kid pool... Pierce loved this slide.

Nice 'split' action dude...
One happy kid... when he is happy we are happy.
Our first sunset in Malaysia.
Come back tomorrow for Day 2!
