More time with family... what could be better?

We finally got the opportunity to meet Bailey, our new niece/cousin and she had Pierce at hello.  He still talks about how cute she is... and how sweet.  Our time with family is never long enough but we are thankful that we get to see them at least once a year.

Pierce always enjoys Nana and Uncle Tim's house bc of the secret room full of toys... and this year he got to play in the water (hence the no pants).

 

Love me some Denton babies... wish we could all be together again.

 

Time with GP and GM

We always love our time with GM and GP... its never long enough but they were coming back to Ulsan with us after our Texas tour so no time for tears... just fun...

Here are some pics our time together.

I had to throw this one in... I just love flashbacks and love seeing Asher wear Pierce's clothes... This was taken on Pierce first birthday ready for church... in the same outfit as Asher a few days after his 1st bday.

This is always one of the highlights of the trip.. Pierce gets to ride in the cool car and sit up front (bc there is no back seat) and the car does not have a roof... how much cooler could it be (ok.. maybe if it took off into flight during the drive that would be cooler... but this is pretty neat).

 

I wanted to capture this pic of GP and Asher bc I have a similar pic of Pierce when he was 8 mos old with GP in these same clothes (see below).
Asher is 12 mos here and Pierce was wearing the same clothes at 8mos.

 

The boys look totally different to me in these pics... Pierce had little to no hair and had blue blue eyes... Asher has darker features but my camera is so much better 6 years later so we get to pick up on those things...

This is what Pierce looked like after leaving their house... a new hat and some new shades... ready to conquer the world.

When Brothers become Uncles...

When Brothers becomes Uncles... something magical happens in their eyes... I love seeing these two brothers with their niece and nephews... we are so blessed to be called family.
 

Keith has always been a great uncle with Pierce and to see him as a dad now is amazing.  Pierce and Asher are blessed to have Uncle Keith.

 

 

Granny Camp 2013

Have you ever been to Granny Camp?  Well Pierce has... and boy did he love it.  Granny Camp takes some training/planning/organizing done by the Granny... there is even a book that you can read... but honestly I think any Granny time regardless of all of that... is awesome.

Our trip to Dallas this year included the first ever "Granny Camp"... conducted by Grandma (and Grandpa).  We had anticipated this day on many levels... Pierce was excited the whole day was going to be about him (surprise... surprise) and we were excited that we got the day with just Asher while Pierce was off at camp.

It happened on a Sunday so we all went to church together, ate lunch together and then from the parking lot of the restaurant we parted ways.  Pierce was now in "Granny Camp".

You can read all about it on Grandma's blog... she has Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.  She is such a good Grandma and they had such a good time...

First stop Perot Museum downtown Dallas that consisted of a lot of cool science stuff, some dinosaurs, other stuff that looked a lot like what daddy does and not one but two 3-D movies.

 

 

 

 

 

Next stop was a place that had fish taco's for dinner... oh that was music to this boys heart... food that had fish in it... yummy.  They even brought some back for mommy and daddy.

The last part of Granny camp consisted of a service project.  Through the course of the morning this idea shifted from baking cookies for a shelter to writing a letter to a military family to say thanks.

This is what Pierce wrote:
We met your dad.  Thank you for protecting us.  I love jets.  Jesus loves you.  God always gives you the tools to open your heart.

Dear Denton Family (especially Pierce!)
Thank you so very much for the note y'all sent. I am glad to hear you enjoyed CCPC - I grew up in that church & have many fond memories.  Thank you also for the kind words of support.  It is very nice to know one is appreciated.  As for Pierce - if you love jets, I say go for it!  I am enclosing a picture of the jet I fly in the Navy.  It is called the E-6B Mercury.  It has four engines and is over 150 feet long.  Pretty cool stuff, huh?  I hope we can meet some time to talk about planes - I still love jets!  I wish you all the best, but keep those grades up!  To be a pilot you need to take math seriously.  I hope you had a great holiday season & wish you the best in 2013.

What a great time... and can't wait to do it again... but next time will have more participants... can't wait to see...

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for taking the time to make sure you time with Pierce is special and memorable... I wish we lived closer that we could just hop over every weekend or so but you sure do know how to make the best of it... love you for many things this is just one of them.

Pierce loves his Grandpa... 

Pierce got some really cool PJ's for Christmas... and he was eager to put them on.

I don't get to spend much time with my sweet niece... so I was kind of a hog at Christmas... I scooped her up whenever she would let me... 

I love this picture... bc thats what we do at GM and GP's... laugh... wish we knew what we were laughing at but Anna thought it was funny too.

One night GM and GP wanted all of us to go out to dinner with some of their closest friends... always so much fun... and this year we got an even bigger treat... Blake got to see one of his closest friends... Blake and Kevin went to high school together... I adore them too... sweet sweet family and it was really special to see them bc Kevin walked Sara May down the aisle at our wedding and it makes my heart happy just knowing that they knew sweet Sara.

 

Sorry the pics are not that great but I did not have my camera with me... Here Asher is getting passed around... He loved all the attention.

Finally stopped at Grandpa.... Not sure which one enjoyed it more... Asher or GP.
