On my knees for the Philippines!

Will you please join me in prayer for the Philippines right now...
Just a couple of days after our team left Manila, Philippines the town was hit by a Typhoon. The very place we stayed and very place we served and worshipped is under flood waters right now... The people of the Philippines need our prayers....

Please go here and here to see video of the devastating effects the typhoon had on such a sweet land of people. There are two more typhoons headed their way... please pray.

240 people have died and the death poll is still rising.... I know that this is not the first natural disaster that we have seen but I hope and pray that we never get numb to the fact of how devastating these disasters are... never has one effected me so... I guess getting to know the people there and getting loved by them and to now see them suffering so... makes my soul ache for them... I do know that our God is a good God and He will win this too...

Here is an email I just got from Laura, the pastors wife of Paco Baptist Church... the church that serves the street kids there in Manila.

Dearest Camille,

Thank you for your email. Just receiving your letter encourages me. Do continue to pray for us. We are assessing the situation around Metro Manila and neighboring towns. I learned that they are in much worse situation. We will be giving out relief goods after we determine the extent of the need and damage and which areas where our people are that have not been served yet. One pastor friend and his family had to stay for two nights on the roof since the flood waters inside their place reached to 8 ft. In desperation since they had nothing to eat, and were just drinking rain water, their eldest son jumped into the flood waters to get help. Sadly, he has not returned since. I am afraid there will be more similar stories among our people.

Two more typhoon are on their way to the Philippines. Pray they will get diverted elsewhere where they can't wreck havoc.

April 21st, 2009 there were approx. 40+ aggies that gathered at the American Club in Singapore to honor the fallen aggies this past year. Like the poem above "In Memoriam" we toasted in honor of them all.

It was a good way to celelbrate those whom we knew (Brad) and those whom we did not but with the same color of blood color maroon we will forever be one.

The Good news is that we know exactly where Brad is roaming (the poem says wherever they may roam)... the streets of Gold with Jesus.

Thanks to all of you that have been praying for the Wims family... and I know alot of you have asked how you could help this family out during this time... so here is a wonderful opportunity to help out Jenny Wims and the kids. Dear Friends,

Brad Wims courageously fought the battle against the cancer that caused such pain and damage in his body for over two years. Each day was a victory and a blessing of grace for we are never promised tomorrow. Even as the doctors’ prognosis was grim, Brad persevered with God as his strength. He was an incredible example of faithfulness and trust in God even in the most trying of circumstances. Many people have expressed a desire to help ease the situation for Jenny, Zeke and Kaelyn. We find ourselves asking, “What more can I do in addition to prayer?”


Although many would think that Brad’s primary burden was his physical health, those that know him well say that more than anything else, his main concern centered on his wife and children. Brad felt responsible for the provision of their financial, spiritual and emotional needs. Since Brad faced an uncertain future, the financial strain weighed heavy on his mind. Because of this, we have decided to set up a fund to collect donations from anyone who would like to make sure his family is taken care of regardless of their situation.


Our goal is to raise $120,000 to be used toward this effort. This would allow Jenny to pay off the mortgage of their house and provide much needed income during this difficult time. The elders of the A&M Church of Christ in College Station and the Southeast Church of Christ in Friendswood (Brad and Jenny’s home church) are graciously providing direction, encouragement and the necessary arrangements to make the collection for these funds convenient. Because of the blessings God showers down upon all of us, we believe this is an attainable goal. We invite you to reflect on the abundant blessings you have received from God and join others in the grace of giving to this much needed cause.

Update on Reagan Kacsmaryk!

I told Shelly today that it would not be the "Kacsmaryk way" if Reagan's birth did not add another pierce to their amazing testimony.... well he did and still is! We love you little man!

With a Heavy Heart....

I know that alot of you have been praying for the Wims family particularly for Brads healing but I wanted to beg for your prayers one more time for the Wims family. I just got an email from a friend from college in which she informed me that Brad Wims passed away on March 2nd due to his fight from cancer. Please visit the Wims blog and leave your prayer, supporting words and/or virtual hug... Brad was an amazing man and by the way his wife talks of him an amazing husband and father.

Heavenly Father,

It is hard but bc we believe in a home in heaven we do rejoice that Brad, a true servant that once brought laughter to so many of us here on earth, is bringing laughter and joy to you in Heaven today... but with a heavy heart you know of all the people here on earth who are grieving and have so many questions and long for answers. I pray that you give them the strength and the promise of peace that surpasses all understanding. A special prayer for his wife and children as they now live with a void that only you can fill. You promise a plan and we beg that you let it shine during this time, a time when it feels impossible to face tomorrow.
