A thankful Thanksgiving!

So much to be thankful for this year... our bucket is full... our cup runneth over... blessed... we are THANKFUL.  This is our first thanksgiving as a family of four and we have never felt more complete.

I do have to say that the holiday season has really snuck up on me and I am feeling a little behind... scary to think that Thanksgiving is over and we are now approaching Christmas... so much to do and so little time... and in my spare time I would much rather be sitting with my boys, getting spit up on, playing Zingo and laughing at the next thing that comes out of someones mouth... so the Christmas shopping is way behind, the decorating is put on hold and for now we are just enjoying each other.

I did get a chance to go shopping with a friend this week (we had an hour to spare) and I happen to find a Carters here in Korea... and they had this cute little "Mommy's Little Turkey"... I had to have it for Asher's first thanksgiving... our sweet little turkey...

Pierce and I were talking about how we missed doing the pics this year at the pumpkin patch... so we put our heads together and came up with our own pumpkin patch... We wanted for both boys to be in the pics and Asher was taking a nap so Pierce was trying out the chair....

And then he wanted to try out his different faces... he said he was acting like Asher...

Asher is awake... time to take some shots...

Pierce grabbed the camera and took a shot of Asher with mommy...

Thanksgiving dinner is a bit different for us than the traditional American home.... and it all started on Blake and I's first thanksgiving together when we traveling in Australia.  We wanted to find something good to eat for our thanksgiving dinner and all we could find was nachos... so since then when we can on Thanksgiving we have nachos as a family... yummy... and this year to add to all the fun and traditions we added a new one... Get a table cloth.. write on it every year the things that you are thankful for with the year... and in twenty years you will have a masterpieces of things to be thankful for and whole night of conversation about memories...

Pumpkin Bread for dessert and some writing... Pierce did not want to do just one...

Pierce is thankful for 1) mume (mommy), 2) Fameles (family), 3) Armes (Army), 4) Bible... he wrote this out all by himself... and Asher is thankful that he was born...

We are thankful for all our friends and family... and God who has blessed us abundantly.

November fun...

The month is not over but we must share the fun we have been having... we are getting excited for the holidays coming up but until then we are staying busy...

Daddy in one of his many photo ops at work... can you tell which one he is?  HE HE HE

We are beyond ecstatic for our Aggie Football Team... WHOOP... we are supporting the maroon and white from all the way in Korea... No matter the time of day Blake is always watching the game live... the rest of us usually catch the replays and or tail end... we love us some Aggie Football...

Late last month daddy had to go away for a couple of days so Pierce and I went to the chicken place downstairs for some dinner... here we are all bundled up having some chicken...

Asher was all bundled up too..

Thanks to JuJu and Uncle KW, Pierce is one stylish guy this winter... he loves looking like John Travolta in his bomber jacket...

Last month Pierce and four other kids in his Year 1 (Kindergarten) class were moved to the Year 2 (first Grade) class.  They are still  referred to as Year 1 due to age but are in a joined class with Year 2, this is great due to the challenge in academics that he is receiving now.  He has a male teacher which he loves and is really doing well in the new class.  Last week his class took a field trip to the Science Museum... Pierce loves Science.

Even mommy had a girls night... and yes this is a Karaoke Bus... you have got to ride in one of these with 30 ladies... a fun night for sure...

More to come in November... stay tuned...

In denial... could it really be time...

Time for a play mat... Yes I have been holding my baby for 3 months now refusing to let him grow up... I am not encouraging any sort of movement on his own at all... but the other day we went to a friends house and they have a baby that is a month older than Asher (meet Hawkins) and he was playing on his play mat and I thought for a brief second "I wonder if Asher would like that but I think he is too young"... well I wish I could take back the next second when I laid him on the mat bc he LOVED it... and now he knows other entertainment other than just mommy/daddy/brother talking to him and holding him... a sad day... I thought he was not ready but I was WRONG.  So when we got home we had to get ours out and let the fun continue... there has not been a day since where he is laid on this mat and the arms/legs go a swinging which is followed by tons of smiles, coos and laughter (and the occasional spit up).  Sorry baby next step I am locking you in a cage and not letting you learn anything else...
Asher with his buddy...

At home playing on our mat... with brother of course...

Pierce played on this same mat and there use to be a picture of a bunny to look at but as soon as we pulled it out Pierce took out the bunny and put in his picture (which is so Pierce... love that little man)... he said he wanted Asher to see him when he was at school so he would not miss him.  Do you see the picture of Pierce?

Love this little man... he is a great big brother.

Saved the best for last... my two boys!

We adore our little 3 mos. old

Asher John at THREE months
7.2 kg (16 lbs) - 85th percentile
64.77 cm (25.5 in) in length - 95th percentile (a huge growth... trying to catch up to brother)
42.4 cm (16.7in) in head cir. - 100th ++ percentile (still a big melon)

Eating - every three to four hours during the day, with last one at 10pm and the next at 7:30am

Sleeping - Yeah... sleeping through the night... goes to bed around 8pm, then I wake him at 10 for a dream feed and then he sleeps until 7:30am (when I have to wake him up so we can take Pierce to school)... he sleeps on and off during the day still no real schedule during the day.

Sounds - All kinds of noises and definitely getting more vocal

Smiles - His smile has turned into a laugh... which is a big open mouth laugh with not much sound but so so cute

Happy - Extremely

Best Trait - patient and a ladies man already... any lady that speaks to him will get a big smile... guaranteed to make your day

Cries - hardly never... on occasions when he wakes and is hungry

Nick Name - Asher Johnny Boy

Firsts - no real changes since 2 mos (thank you God)... still swinging the legs and trying to suck on his hand (his whole hand).  He is holding his head up more and more each day... while in the car seat he will lean forward like he is trying to get out and really giving his abs a workout.

Updates - Sleeping through the night... we are so thrilled.  Also Asher now has his own passport and a US birth certificate... Yeah He is American...

Are you ready for the photos... sorry I just could not pick a favorite... so you get them all...

Ok I lied... the next one is my favorite... but you are still getting them all.

This is what a sneeze looks like:

The next three pics deserve a story... the first one it seemed that Asher was dazed so I asked Pierce to make him smile (which is easy to do)... so here comes Pierces hand to place on top of his head... and I tell you what if Pierce pays any attention to Asher (for example Pierce could step on his toe, yell his name, etc.) the next 2 pictures is what you get... He loves his big brother.

The hand is quickly removed and I get a pic of that sweet smile... which usually turns into a laugh (the pic below is of Asher laughing at his big brother).

"Hey mom... your kind of boring... where is big brother?"

The next set of pics of just of Asher growing up this past month... and all the fun we have been having watching him do so...

The next picture is proof that Asher is not like his brother when it comes to sleeping... Pierce was swaddled as tight as could be for the first 8 months but Asher he likes to spread out...

The weather is getting colder here..... and thanks to the Unruh's we are prepared... Asher all wrapped up in his green onsie...

Some pics I grabbed with my phone (so they are not great)... but check out the sequence.

1)  I was not talking to him... he was just checking out the room and taking it all in... so still..

2).  Hey Asher... "YES"

Whatcha doing?  and this is his response... nothing but smiles...

Here Daddy is having a great time with Asher before bed time... there is nothing like a good rest after a bunch of laughter and coo's...

Asher is starting to respond to voices, touch, smiles, and grab a hold of toys... so fun to watch him have so much fun... here he is with his doggie and when the doggie attacks it really cracks him up...
