TAMU Bowl Game!

While we were home for the holidays we got to go the TAMU bowl game in Houston... oh what a treat and I think my husband planned it that way.  And a bigger treat was we got to take Pierce with us and Uncle Keith was there too.. wow what a great day... I can't remember the last time we went to a Football game and I think this was Pierce first football game... so we got decked out in our maroon and white and off we went hoping that we were going to win.

Two happy boys.... Gig'em Aggies (thank you Aunt JuJu and Uncle KW for the tickets).

Aunt JuJu and Uncle KW also got this t-shirt for Pierce that said "you call it a mascot and we call it hamburger meat"... on our walk to the stadium we got lots of laughs about his shirts... so cute.

We made it to our awesome seats... and we were ready to go...

Even had the towels and everything... here Pierce is learning how to spin them...

A few minutes into the game Pierce wanted the itouch... how disappointing... he was soon back into the game.

Shouldn't everyone have cotton candy at the game.. to keep his eyes on the game (or the crowd) we told him he could have cotton candy if he found the guy selling it... he would spot someone all the way on the other side of the field.... but soon Uncle Keith went to get him soon... so sweet.

Happy faces = we won...

Oh what fun.... and with football season right around the corner we sure wish we could do it again.

Flashback continued.. more time in Houston!

We just love going back home to Houston and spending time with family and friends... we get so spoiled with all the attention and all the food... Here are some pics that can't wait another day without sharing with you... some great memories in H-Town.

Uncle Keith and Auntie Elly came to visit from D-Town and Auntie Elly got picked this night to read a book.

Lots and lots of time with Grace... they would lie like this and watch TV all day if we let them...

And we got to spend some time with cousin Lauren and her fiance at the time Mr. John... they are now married and can't wait to see them as a married couple... super cute.

Since we were newly prego we wanted to go see the doctor that delivered Pierce and let him "in on the action"... he was happy to see us, Pierce and the new one on the ultrasound.  This is also where we told Pierce that he was going to be a big brother... such a sweet moment but it was quickly overshadowed by a very special moment that we experienced when we got the parking lot... not 20 feet from our car we got to see a helicopter take off and they even turned around in our direction and waved to Pierce as they left... so cool.

Sweet friends... it is always good to go back home and hang out with friends that no matter how much time has passed it does not feel like we have spent any time apart... what a blessing... and to see all the kids and how much they have grown... good times...

Shortly after Pierce's bday... is my bday... and we got some special time in Houston celebrating mine (and Pierce's again)... Here we are birthday morning...

And one of Pierce's favorite things in Houston besides Grace... is Uncle KW... they truly are best buds and Pierce just loves how Uncle KW makes everything so much fun... they are so cute to watch... Uncle KW was picked to read on this night...

More friend time... Pierce and Harper use to be in the same playgroup together when they were so tiny... look at them now...

If in Houston and you are celebrating your bday you must have Mexican food... for sure... bc not only is it good but you get to wear a Sombrero.

One last moment that is a must to share... Pierce had his first FREEBIRDS... a very special moment.

Birthday dinner with friends...

Pierce's birthday night in Texas... we had dinner with some friends that we had not seen in like a year (I think).  They had recently moved to a new city and we were excited to hug their neck, see how big the twins had gotten and to see their home.  OH what fun... Pierce was so excited to have some play buddies and they were all instant friends.

They even had a surprise for Pierce after dinner... a birthday cookie cake... Here is Mr. Wade coming out with the surprise...

And this is Pierce's response... embarrassed/shy but so happy.

Lindsay is a good friend from Houston and we have prayed, laughed, cried and had many dinners together... I sure do miss her jolly spirit and wish we were closer in distance so we could be together and our kids could grow up together.

It was a good night but we had to hurry home to get some rest.... bc the next day we had our 5 year old check up and since we missed our 4 year old check up in the states we knew there were going to lots of shots... and sure enough there were... look at all those bandaids and one un-happy boy

Flashback... birthday in Texas!

More flashbacks... I am really trying to play catch up and half a year ago we were in Texas in Dec/Jan and had a lot of fun that I still have to blog about... and here is an important one... when our baby boy turned 5.  We just love being home for birthdays... we get spoiled from family and friends and we get donuts for breakfast.  That was our first stop... Shipleys... yummy.

Then after breakfast we headed the children's museum... we have not been there in years and they had done a lot of work... it was fantastic and so much to do and see... here are some pics our fun time there.

They had this great section where you got to build a car out of lego's and then race them... here are my boys building (a daddy's dream)... and then off to the races.

Then we made torpedo's and planes and got to shoot them at targets...

And then off to the imagination zone... mommy's favorite... first stop EMT and then to the grocery store where we got to shop and buy anything we wanted to eat and then off to the vet clinic.

A great day in Houston celebrating turning 5 years old... it seems like forever ago when Pierce turned 5 (he is now 5.5) and this half year has really fllown by and lots has changed but we are thankful for every minute.  Pierce has really developed into a smart sweet young boy... everyday his daddy and I look at him and question "when did you get so big and grown up"... he is so much fun and we never could imagine that we would love a child this much... but we do...

Come back tomorrow and find out what we did for his birthday dinner.
