Clean Pearly Whites...Pierce's first dentist appt.

Pierce had his first experience at the dentist (I absolutely dread my dentist appts... but Pierce was rather excited bc he knew he got to watch TV.)... I have been wanting to take Pierce to the dentist since he turned 2 just to have a cleaning and make sure everything looked good (I was 9 the first time I went and had 9 cavities... so I thought the sooner the better for Pierce). Well we had not made it around to making an appt. until one day I bought a big jug of Cranberry/Black Currant Juice for Pierce and he drank on it for over a week. I noticed when we were done with the juice his 4 front teeth looked stained. I started asking around and other moms asked me if had been drinking black currant juice... I had no idea that is why they called it black currant... it is bc it will make your teeth black... so I made the appt for a cleaning.

Pierce was so excited to sit in the big boy chair with all the cool things to touch.

Here is the dentist showing him how they are going to clean his teeth... they spoke English and were really gentle with Pierce...they had a movie playing the whole time... he loved it.

Believe it or not... Pierce sat there the entire time while they cleaned ALL of his teeth (still lacking the 4 two year old molars).

And can you believe his teeth came out so white... he will not be getting Blake currant juice for a long time.
The funny thing about our visit was that Pierce has yet to learn how to spit... when we brush his teeth we still use the toothpaste that you can swallow... so when he had all that grit in his mouth (the cleaning agent) the Dr. wanted him to spit so I first showed him how to do it and then he hoisted himself up over the drain, took a sip, swallowed, leaned over and made a spitting noise... and he was so proud of himself... the dentist then told me he would not use so much cleaning agent next time but to work on spitting... so now we have homework... never thought I had to teach my boy how to spit....

God can do great things!

Thanks to all of you that have been praying for the Wims family... and I know alot of you have asked how you could help this family out during this time... so here is a wonderful opportunity to help out Jenny Wims and the kids. Feel free to pass this letter along, post it on your blog, etc. I know God will do great things through this!

****************************
Dear Friends,

Brad Wims courageously fought the battle against the cancer that caused such pain and damage in his body for over two years. Each day was a victory and a blessing of grace for we are never promised tomorrow. Even as the doctors’ prognosis was grim, Brad persevered with God as his strength. He was an incredible example of faithfulness and trust in God even in the most trying of circumstances. Many people have expressed a desire to help ease the situation for Jenny, Zeke and Kaelyn. We find ourselves asking, “What more can I do in addition to prayer?”

Although many would think that Brad’s primary burden was his physical health, those that know him well say that more than anything else, his main concern centered on his wife and children. Brad felt responsible for the provision of their financial, spiritual and emotional needs. Since Brad faced an uncertain future, the financial strain weighed heavy on his mind. Because of this, we have decided to set up a fund to collect donations from anyone who would like to make sure his family is taken care of regardless of their situation.

Our goal is to raise $120,000 to be used toward this effort. This would allow Jenny to pay off the mortgage of their house and provide much needed income during this difficult time. The elders of the A&M Church of Christ in College Station and the Southeast Church of Christ in Friendswood (Brad and Jenny’s home church) are graciously providing direction, encouragement and the necessary arrangements to make the collection for these funds convenient. Because of the blessings God showers down upon all of us, we believe this is an attainable goal. We invite you to reflect on the abundant blessings you have received from God and join others in the grace of giving to this much needed cause.

There are two ways to donate:Send a check to either of the churches listed below. Please write “Wims Family” on the memo line to designate your funds and help with bookkeeping. A&M Church of Christ2475 Earl Rudder Frwy. S.College Station, TX 77845Southeast Church of Christ2400 W. You will be prompted to press the Give button. Please share this letter with anyone else you know who would want to be a part of this special project. Ten dollars, one hundred dollars, one thousand dollars, or a penny a week...whatever you can give, know that it will bring relief in a time when it matters so much!

Much love and excitement for how God will change us all through this project, Friends of Faith

Holland is happy but Singapore is sad... we will miss you Andre, Heidi and Sophie!

Last Friday we said goodbye to our sweet friends Andre, Heidi and Sophie. They lived in our condo for 6 months and we just had so much fun with them... part of living as an expat is that you have to say "Good-bye" way to often... Holland is happy to have them back home but Singapore will never be the same... we miss you already.
Pierce just could not get enough of Sophie's dad Andre... called him papa bc that is what Sophie called him...

Although we were sad and these pics were the last time that we got to swim with them... I managed to get a CHEESE out of Pierce.

My sweet friend Heidi..... thank you for all the times you made me smile and laugh.

And who could ever get enough of that sweet face... Sophie has such a gentle heart and so much fun to be around... she is 1.5 going on 5... so cute.

After swimming we joined our friends Martin and Jane and their kids at the condo for pizza... we are all dried off now and having one last night as friends in Singapore. Here is a pic of Sophie and August.

Like I said Pierce could not get enough of Andre... here they are putting puzzles together.

The 3 girls... these are my buddies from the condo... I have taught each of these girls how to do the full body hug... when we first meet... Jane would shake my hand and Heidi would give me 3 kisses on the cheek... I had to show them the good old fashioned hug from America.... when Heidi left she gave me a big long hug... thanks Heidi... I will come and see you in Holland for sure...

All the kids just love Sophie... here is Alberta getting some love.

While we were eating the girls (daughters) got up on the table and had a concert imitating a rock star.... so funny.

Blake even got some good bye hugs and kisses from Sophie.

We love you and you will miss your face around here... our condo will not be the same without "Y'ALL".
Sophie singing "Twinkle Twinkle little Star" in her second language English... she will be missed.
"Dag" - (Danish for Bye)!

PLaYdaTe with Alex and water.

Last Friday we joined Alex and his mommy Lesley at the IMM building here in Singapore for a morning of fun with friends and lots of water. Alex is the reason that we choose the new school. He is our neighbor and a half year older than Pierce and they are buddies at school and home.

Running around.

Stopped for a little snack... Thanks to Lesley she brought snacks for all (I am a terrible mum)... Alex and Lesley are from England and we just have so much fun with them every time.

Alex had another (girl)friend that meet up with us there and her name was May... do you think the boys liked having her there?

Then it was just the two of them... holding hands.... so sweet.

Here is a pic of Alex climbing the wall (Pierce climbed this wall several time but I was to scared to let go of him to take a picture) and Lesley helping him up.

Trying to find the one drop of water in Singapore (or at least at the IMM building in Singapore).

I found the water.... yippppeeee.

Can you say Tired.....

Pierce is feeling so much better now (antibiotics will do that to you) but you have to sleep before you get better... well Pierce did alot of that.. here are some pics of him really tired (mouth open and drool coming out) or falling asleep after he ate.

We went to eat with some friends at a near by mall... and Pierce fell asleep in the middle of the mall sitting up in his high chair... you have got to check out the video to believe me.

Was that the funniest thing you have ever seen....

Me and My MAN!

I never really take the chance to talk about Blake and I on our blog... and just today I got tagged (via facebook) this...Me and My Man... so here it goes.... and the picture above was our first picture taken back in 2003.

Me and My Man

♥ What are your middle names? Diane and Andrew

♥ How long have you been together? Together since 2003, Married since 2005.

♥ How long did you know each other before you started dating? A couple of months (is this bad that I don't know exactly how long?)

♥ Who asked who out? Kind of a long and complicated story... but I was dating someone else and I was interested in Blake from the first time I meet him... but I had to play it cool since I was seeing someone else. But the night that I broke up with (old) boyfriend, Blake said he could take me to the airport the next morning (so not sure if this counts) but a week later I was the first one to call and I asked him to go to Wal-Mart with me to help me pick out some plants for my pots... does this count... our real first date(s) we consider is ONE DAY 2003... and he was going with his family as a volunteer and I was going with a group of friends (already... sort of) as participants...

♥ How old are each of you? I am 31 and Blake is 30... the joke is there are 2 months out of the year where I am 2 years older then him... :-)

♥ Whose siblings do/ did you see the most? I have none but even I did I would probably have to say Julie (Blake's sister) and her husband since they live in Houston (about 7 minutes from our house) and they are easy to love and be loved by... they really make the effort to spend time with us and are gracious with their house when we come to Houston for a visit (while living in Singapore). Blake does have a brother named Keith (and his wife Elysse) and we love them as much but they live in Dallas and it is harder to get to see them as often.

♥ Do you have any children together? Pierce Blake Denton, the joy of our lives.

♥ Do you have any pets? My cat named Kitty (Blake would never accept her as his own and yes she came from the pound with that name)... she is no longer mine for her new home is with my in-laws in Dallas since we moved to Singapore... but she is the best cat you will ever find and gorgeous.

♥ Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? I am really searching for an answer to this one... so I will just have to say "Thank you Jesus "

♥ Did you go to the same school? Yes, Texas A&M University... but we did not know each other in college

♥ Are you from the same home town? Nope... I am from Benbrook, TX and he is from Richardson, TX.

♥ Who is the smartest? Wow... depends on the topic of choice... but when comparing ourselves as a contestant on "Who's smarter than a 5th grader"... I think I would make it to 1st grade and Blake would make it to 5th.

♥ Who is the most sensitive? Is this seriously a real question??... I would have to say me since when I think about sensitive I think about tears... and Blake has seen me cry alot of times and I can only think of 2 for him... once the night he told me he loved me and the other was when his grandfather passed away.

♥ Where do you eat out most as a couple? Somewhere in Singapore.

♥ Where is the farthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Halfway across the world to where we live now... SINGAPORE... I don't think you could get any further... maybe if we became astronauts and flew to Mars.

♥ Who has the craziest exes? ummm, since he has only ONE ex... I would have to say me just out of shear numbers.

♥ Who has the worst temper? Yours truly... like a crock pot or volcano... when I erupt it is nasty... but working on that.

♥ Who does the cooking? Me for everything but grilling... but since we live on the 10th floor and grilling is prohibited I guess that would be ME.

♥ Who is more social? Blake would say me... but have you meet my husband?

♥ Who is the neat-freak? Me...absolutely, me...

♥ Who is more stubborn? we both are absolutely, completely stubborn

♥ Who hogs the bed? HIM

♥ Who wakes up earlier? That would be Blake since his alarm clock goes off at 5:50am and mine is at 8:30 when Pierce starts talking in bed.

♥ Where was your first date? ONE DAY 2003

♥ Who has the bigger family? Immediate Blake, but extended I am the winner.

♥ Do you get flowers often? No... Blake does not like to give flowers.

♥ How do you spend the holidays? With each other... that has always been important to us... switching holidays between extended families but always together the three of us.

♥ Who is more jealous? completely, totally me

♥ How long did it take to get serious? I might not tell Pierce this when he gets older (so he will take it slower) but not long... I remember having a conversation with my old roommate just 2 months after having meet him that I wanted to be his wife and a part of his family.

♥ Who eats more? I eat more often, Blake eats less often but bigger portions...

♥ Who does the laundry? Cena (our helper) and I... Blake does not touch it... it just mystically appears in his drawers ready to be worn everyday.... he loves it that way.

♥ Who’s better with the computer? Blake has no idea how to do a Blog (that would be me) but he can reprogram a database, he is a master at auto cad (sp?), and there have been several times I have found him where the shell of the computer is missing and he is playing with tiny wires.... scary but I guess that means he is better than I (at some things :-)).

♥Was it love at first sight? Yes, the first time I meet Blake we were at a church retreat in Houston, TX... I was dating someone else but had a single friend who I had encouraged to go meet that cute guy over there (that would be Blake). When she went over to meet him he took off his baseball cap and shook her hand and said hello... what a gentlemen I thought... so yes it was love at first sight.

You now know a little about us...I tag all of our readers because I want to know a little about you. You know the drill, copy...paste...delete...reanswer... look forward to learning more about you and your MAN (or for all the guy readers... you and your GAL).

Pierce's new school!

Pierce is going to a different school now... really close to his old one but we have a friend (in the condo) that goes to this one and now Pierce has a school mate that he can play with at school and at home... you will see more of this friend later... his name is ALEX. Our first day at school Alex was not there but I got to stay the whole day and interact with the other students and meet all the teachers. We went to the park all morning... it was loads of fun but really hot.

They got to play in the sand.

And the big kids were playing on the gym... and Pierce really wanted to get up high.

This is about as high as he got...

Pierce and his new buddies... if you are wondering Pierce will wear a uniform after his 2 weeks of trial.

Sitting and having a drink... I can't believe he actually sat there to have his water.

Then he wanted to sit with the big kids in the big circle.... so cute. We had so much fun meeting our new friends.

Update on Reagan Kacsmaryk!

Go here to read the story of the birth of our sweet little Reagan! Please pray for our little Ray Jay... we need his lungs to gain strength so he can go home and be with his family.

I told Shelly today that it would not be the "Kacsmaryk way" if Reagan's birth did not add another pierce to their amazing testimony.... well he did and still is! We love you little man!

Happy St. Patty's Day, Happy Birthday Shelly and Welcome to our lives lil' Ray Jay!

Alot is going on today:

1. Happy St. Patrick's Day... wear your green... I forgot today at a MOPS meeting and missed out on a prize... bummer.

2. Happy Birthday Shelly - You are the sweetest friend ever and someone that is my hero daily... I love you dearly and wish I could hug your neck today...

3. The birth of Regan Joseph Kacsmaryk - Most of you know my best friend Shelly and her amazing story of being a wonderful mother and friend. So I humbly ask that you pray for her today... not only am I thankful for her birth 31 years ago today (thank you Rodney and Barbara) but she has graciously asked to share her birthday with her first son.

Reagan Joseph Kacsmaryk will be born today (his sonogram picture above was taken in Dec).

Shelly's first child Tyndale Grace is in Heaven with our Lord, her second child is Avery (which you have seen lots of pics of) and Regan will be #3. I do believe that our sweet little Tyndale is looking down from heaven rejoicing that her baby brother is soon to enter this world and get loved on by many.

Please pray for a safe delivery today for mom and baby for they are to start the induction process around 6am today. Shelly and Matt had their second baby Avery almost a year and half ago with zero complications and we are praying the same for baby Reagan Joseph.

See you soon little buddy... I love you so much already.

Clark Quay w/ friends and "football"!

On Saturday we went to Clark Quay with some friends... Here is Pierce (being shy) with his girlfriends Anna Sophie and Alberta.

After dinner we let the kids play in the fountains (again)... Pierce always has so much in the water...

Aren't they just so cute.... Jane and August (mom and brother or the girls) are still in Denmark... hurry back we miss you.

After playing the water and getting changed we headed to all the excitement. They were broadcasting the Manchester United (rated #1) and Liverpool (rated #2) football game in the center of Clark Quay. We had to check it out.

Check out this picture... these are the fans that are divided the blue rope... The underdog did win but we could not say to see all the excitement.

Thanks for hanging with us on Saturday night... it was so much fun...
