Another BIG reveal...

 Another BIG reveal... our babies name...

We are so thrilled to share with you the name of our baby boy #2.  As soon as we found out that we were pregnant Blake and I have been talking about names.  Names mean a lot to us and seeing that Pierce (my parents last name) has such a special name to us we wanted to make sure this ones was just as special.  

How Asher John got his name... Asher was one of the first names that we discussed (even before we knew he was a he) and Blake and I both really liked the name but it was still up in the air bc we wanted it to be more than just a great "sounding name" or a name that went well with Denton.  So I looked up the meaning and as soon as we did this it became special... a hebrew name meaning blessed/happiness. It is a biblical name and the 8th son of Jacob (tribe of Asher) that was blessed by his father with a life of abundance.  Just the fact of how much happiness this baby has already brought to us we found that this name was very fitting an suited him well.  The middle name John also means a lot to us... which is also a biblical name but more than that named after Blake's dad John Harold Denton and my grandpa John David Croy.  Asher John is already so special to us and just hearing his name makes us smile.  Hearing sweet Pierce say "Hi Baby Asher" makes that smile even bigger.

After weeks of calling him Asher and even more weeks of knowing our little baby as a boy we had a follow up appointment here in Singapore at 20 weeks.  If you remember we found out the sex from our new Korean Doctor back in Feb. and she said at the time 80% chance it was a boy... so all this time there was a 20% chance that Asher was a girl... even the thought of this was so foreign and sounded weird but at 20 weeks we anxious for confirmation... Blake could not be there (he was so sad) but as I asked the doctor for confirmation he turned the monitor screen in my direction and said "you tell me"... well take a look at the picture below (which the doctor printed out for daddy) and you tell me... no longer 80% boy... he is 100% pure boy... We love you Asher John Denton and can't wait to meet you.

Just a little side note... I was going to blog this yesterday (but ran out of time) and do an April Fools joke... but I will still tell you... Pierce knows Asher by his real name now but at first Pierce wanted to name him "Jack Willerton Michael"... we do not know any Jack's or Michael's but Willerton is the last name of some good friends... so not really sure how this name got thought up... but so cute.  Denton did not even make it into the name... good thing he is ok with the name Asher... which he often tells me rhymes with Dasher... we are all excited.
