Snorkeling 101...

Before we left for the Maldives... a lot of people told us we must go snorkeling so we signed up for the snorkeling trip first thing. They were all full except for the boat going on Sunday (which was the day we left).  So here we are all sunburned and ready to go... we suit up.  My handsome husband...that mask does wonders for your lips babe... no need for botox if we just all walked around in snorkeling mask.

We boarded our big fancy boat for the adventure.. look how the drivers is steering... no steering wheel

Here is our snorkeling spot... we are ready to jump in...

We were snorkeling on a reef so most of our view was half shallow water with the reef below or the depths of the dark dark ocean with no end in sight... amazing.

We have never seen so many fish and no one was feeding them... they were just there....

This picture is a little fuzzy but a great depiction of what it was like... tons of fish for miles.  It was rainy season in the Maldives and they considered the water a little murky but this was nothing... it was so cool watching this fish do what they do. There were so many different types, colors and sizes.

Blake likes to get really close... Blake got me this underwater camera for Christmas and I am so glad he did... I love these pics...

Christmas Card 2011... he he he...

We snorkeled for about an hour and I could have stayed there all day... it was amazing to see how different fish are from one another.. check out the detail of this fish near it tail... it was teal with bring pink stripes... beautiful...we saw fish that we had never seen before and we were so excited about all the fish Blake and I would take turns taking pics which with all that picture taking it killed our battery half way through the trip.  About 5 min. later we spotted SHARKS.. you are right we saw 2 white tip reef sharks about 10 feet away from us and no camera... you have got to be kidding me.  I just told Blake that that means we have got to go back.  We also got to see a black and white stripped eel and that was really cool... we were a little close and it like hissed at us... opened its mouth and like reared back like a cobra... so cool... and later Blake spotted a huge black star fish... but you guessed it no pictures...

And these little pink squids were everywhere... I could watch how they swim all day... some fish were completely see through... if you were not paying attention you would only see their black eyes but the light would hit them just right and it would blow your mind... amazing.  God really had a lot of fun when he made the ocean... can I say it again... amazing.
