Visiting Male... Part 1!

Since we flew into the Maldives at night we decided to hang out in Male for a night and then take a boat to our resort the following day.  So here is Day 1 in Male which is the capital of the Maldives.  We had to take a 5 min boat ride from the airport and then we arrived. (Which you saw those pics the other day). Our boat the following day did not arrive until noon so we had to the morning to tour around.  Man did I do poor planning on this one... Male is shut down on Fridays (due to prayer time every Friday... this country is 100% Muslim) and nothing opens until 2pm so we missed out so we decided to see if we could walk around the entire island...

The local market was open but no on was allowed to eat until after 6pm ( a month of public/religious holiday).

We were told a lot of people do this all day bc they don't want to think about their hungry bellies... the lady at the hotel told us they are not even allowed to swallow their saliva...
