More of Tuesday fun at the school... what a great day... we had tons of fun in the morning but the camera started snapping when it was snack time... all the kids ran to the kitchen and washed their hands in a manual water pump... see second picture... one kid would crank and then kids would wash and they would switch... it is always nice to see kids get along and just "do" to help each other out...
Then they lined up on the tarps for their food... they had this down... there were no instructions just creatures of habits...
Before they enter the kitchen they had to take off their shoes... I just love this picture...
Here are the teachers and one of my favorite ladies (the cook) in the back... not sure what they were eating but all the kids were so happy to have a meal.
The kids could see their bowls on the wall and they did this song with praise before lunch which included a prayer at the end...
Here she is a woman that touched my heart and really lived through the Khmer Rouge... it is very rare to see older generations bc most of them were killed but to see this lady still smiling and when she meet me she just hugged me and did not let go for some time and then she even kissed me... and this went on every time I saw here... such a sweet lady...
Here is her stove top... build a fire below and the pot in the middle gets hot... so fun...
And her immaculate kitchen pantry... look how organized...
The kids after snack or lunch know to take the bowls and spoons to the sink (bowl full of water) and scrub them.
After snack the kids had some free time and this might have been my favorite time to see them in their element and just having fun. I love the three boys in the tree for many reasons but the biggest one is... check out the boy on the right... he had taken two of the vines from the tree and tied them together to make a swing and he swung for 30 minutes...
These boys ran to the river to get a crab (a little bitty old thing) brought it back to the trash pile that was burning and cooked it.... they knew exactly what they were doing and only 5 years old... after the things was cooked they tore off the legs and they sucked on them and had another good snack.
Here are some of the girls eating some left overs... just pulling and twisting and sucking...
What a great day... my heart is already breaking knowing that we only have 2 more days with these kids... can I bring them home with me?
