When parents are more excited than the kid...

What happens when a 3.5 year old tries to ride a bike for the first time and the parents and grandparents are more excited about it than the 3.5 year old... disaster and not a success at all.

Thanks to ViVi and Grandad Pierce got his first bike when we were home in Texas a couple of months ago. They had told us that they had a bike waiting for him when we got back to Texas and we had talked about it alot. We were all pumped well at least the adults were. We thought Pierce would want to ride the bike the first thing... nope but we got him on the bike soon enough. All of these shots were taken the first days were in FTW with my parents and before we Blake and I went to Maui (still need to blog about that trip).

The first couple of shots were taken as Grandad was making sure the seat was just perfect for him... and as soon as he had the helmet on we were sure he would take off... check out the videos and see what happened.

First Video... great start buddy... oh no... we realized way to soon that is much easier to pedal backwards... oh no..
You will see in the second video where Pierce is requesting a new bike bc he wants to go backwards and the bike stops (brakes) when he does this... he is not to happy...
So in hopes to cheer Pierce up and show him how fun it is to go FORWARD on a bike... we all go for a bike ride... go daddy...

Pierce is still no intreseted so mommy takes a turn...

Ok Pierce is ready to try again... Daddy trying to push him to get started... which was a great idea until Pierce just wanted to sit on the bike while Daddy push him everywhere... wait this is not how it is suppose to work out...

Now mommy and daddy trying to teach him how to pedal and to go faster... and with out a helmet too... wow we are super parents... :-)

Well Pierce was not much for the bike on day one... he decided he would rather work on it... there was surely something he could fix... maybe take the brakes off so he could go backwards.

While Daddy and Mommy were in Maui Pierce got alot more time on the bike with ViVi and Grandad and go much better... he is getting better and better every day. We even brought it back with us to Singapore.... not much of a driveway to ride on here but he is getting better...
