BIG Boys ride the bus...

When we first started looking at schools... Pierce wanted to ride the bus... I think the winning ticket was when he saw some big boys getting off the bus one morning and he knew at that moment that only BIG boys ride the bus... so it was a done deal... Pierce was to ride the bus too.

After we (dad and I) finally came to terms that our boy was big enough to ride the bus we started hunting for the perfect one. Eton House had a bus service and much much more so it was set... Pierce is a BIG boy... he is only 3.5 but he is going on 16.

The bus... well let me describe the bus it seats 10 kids and 2 adults. There is a driver and then there is a Auntie that buckle's them in and rides with them to ensure their safety.

OK back to the story... the bus picks Pierce up at our condo at 8:05am and he is the first child picked up. Since the bus comes at 8:05 we have to get up around 7:15am, today was the first day... and this is what I saw when I walked into his room... he was no where near ready to get up. I opened the curtains turned off his sound machine and cut off the AirCon... he woke up and ran to the couch to watch some toons, have some breakfast and get dressed and then we were out the door...

And of course I had to take pics along the way (and you will notice Pierce got a hair cut to for the big day). It really helped getting him excited about the bus bc a big kid (going to middle school) caught up with us and was waiting for his bus too.

Walking with determination...

The bus was right on time and before I could even think he climbed on the bus was buckled in and smiled goodbye... with me shouting I love you... check out the video below (my mom (ViVi) asked for this... so here you go).

You might be wondering.. did I cry... no but I thought about it... I decided to wear my big girl panties and be so proud of him... but my voice in the video did crack a little bit...

He looks like such a big boy with his haircut! Glad he's enjoying getting to ride the bus...it sure is easier than trying to get a taxi in the morning.

Wow, he's growing up so fast! I loved riding the bus...until I got to HS and was one year away from driving...then it was not cool anymore ;)

Whoa! You go, Mommy! It amazes me that our precious little babies are soooo much more ready to be grown up little boys than we are to let them do that. You go ahead and let your voice crack and your tears fall! I can't imagine!
