The odd couple:
An Indian and a Chinese Mariachi Band at our favorite Mexican Restaurant here in Singapore named Margarita's. Our friend Stephen (a.k.a. Dork in Asia) took this video and he said this was Blog material... I had to agree bc he said "who would believe you if you just told someone about that odd pair???"
Check it out for yourself.

One Year down!
On April 10th, we, The Denton Clan completed our first year in Singapore. The actual day was an ordinary one but the date is monumental for us. Last Year at this time we found ourselves with lots of doubts, concerns, worries and just a fear for living somewhere other than Texas but this year we find ourselves ready for more. Although change is hard we have learned that their is usually a Blessing behind the change and we look forward to the next year here or wherever God leads us. Singapore has really grown on us and we are so thankful for our new home here.
25 things we did this year:
1) Pierce's first international travel at 15 months
2) visited Bintan, Indonesia
3) visited Phuket, Thailand (twice)
4) 1st time to receive care packages since college
5) getting to stay home and watch Pierce grow into a wonderful little boy (little is relative)
6) got to spend one on one time with parents and in laws for along duration of time. Something that we would not have been able to do in the states.
7) went to Texas as a visitor
8) made new lasting friendships from around the world
9) learned how to blog
10) eaten some good international food
11) gained lbs from that good international food
12) learned about new ways of giving internationally
13) got a new home church
14) Blake has lost some hair (HE HE HE)
15) Pierce has gained some hair
16) Learned to say a few words in Thai and Chinese
17) visited various temples, mosques and shrines
18) got to experience summer all year long
19) got rained on while wearing a white dress
20) watch Pierce interact with children who spoke a different language
21) strengthened relationships back home
22) growing closer as a family, since we are are only family here
23) learning new holidays around the world
24) seeing how the American economy affects the whole world

'MOPS' Get TOgeTherS!

Our 'Mother of Preschoolers (MOPS)' group went to get nibbled on... Fish Reflexology for the Moms.

These fish were much smaller than the ones you have seen me take our guest to in Sentosa... but it only cost $8. I guess one sucker fish is the same as the next... exept when one cost $8 and the other cost $30.

On a seperate day our discussion group "Bumper Cars" went to see a play for the children. This was Pierce's first play (besides Barney)... and he did really well. It was called Little Bear and Chicked go camping... what a great day.

Aren't they just so cute...

After the play we headed to Clark Quay to eat lunch... and can you believe the only place open was HOOTERS... never been to HOOTERS before... but I got to go with a bunch of moms and their babes... we fit right in????
Here Pierce wanted to hold baby Meagan's hand and he wanted a new mommy (thanks Heather for playing along).

Hard to find white eggs in Singapore...

Easter has always been a time for traditions in my family... and one that I wanted to carry on with Pierce is dying of Easter eggs... I have seen some of my friends blogs where they did this and they had these cute little kits that they bought at Target or something.. but let me tell you "dying of Easter eggs is not made simple here in Singapore"... it is even hard to find white eggs. Most of the eggs here in Asia are brown... so you pay extra, drive further and fight other Americans that are looking for WHITE Easter eggs... I found one tray in the very back last week (that had 3 broken eggs in it). The cashier told me that I could not buy the eggs bc they were SPOILED and they were not allowed to sale them. After my crazy attempt to tell her about the tradition of coloring eggs for Easter (which she did not understand) I promised her that I would not eat them I was just going to "play with them"... you will see in the video that I could not stop Pierce from eating one of the eggs (but he is ok)... so here you have it... our attempt at coloring 6 Easter eggs (3 broke in the store and 3 more broke when I put them in hot water)... the tradition lives on.

Eating the egg.... OOPPSSSSSS.
**************************************************************
"Happy Easter to everyone" while eating one of the "Spoiled Eggs".
"Happy Easter to ViVi and Grandad"
"Happy Easter to Grandma and Grandpa"
"Happy Easter to Aunt JuJu and Uncle Keith"
"Happy Easter to Auntie Elly and Uncle Keith... with a special shout out to JuJu"
After the last video Pierce got into trouble for putting sea shells into the bubble maker so needless to say Pierce was not in the MOOD to give the last shout out to Nana... "Happy Easter Nana... we love and miss you".

What did the Easter Bunny leave for you?

Pierce was lying in bed with Daddy on Sunday morning when I brought him his Easter basket that the Easter bunny left for him... it was hard to find an Easter bunny here so most of what you are about to see was brought here in suitcases from America. (thank you Vivi and Grandad)

The Easter bunny knew that Pierce is really into bugs this year... go Easter Bunny.

He is starting to finally look at the camera... this is what I get... I will take it.

Could not wait to eat some candy before breakfast... oh what a sweet boy.
Here is video of Pierce opening his basket of goodies and saying "Happy Easer"....
We had such a great Easter, getting to have a lazy morning before church, hearing a great sermon, taking a long nap, having some good food, dying some eggs(pics and video later) and just spending time with the three of us.
Resurrection Day Morning pics.... for the past 3 years.
