His teacher got married

The first fun of summer was Pierce's teachers wedding...Mr. Milford got married and they had a traditional Korean wedding at a temple which was beautiful... very hot but beautiful.  Mr. Milford had invited all his "kids" and we were happy to join in the festivities.  A memorable day for sure.

Where does he get those lips???

In a traditional Korean wedding both the bride and groom ride in separate chariots that are carried by family or friends.  The guy below in the white outfit is also a teacher at Pierce's school... who plays hockey with daddy..

The bride and groom duking under the tent... those are some head pieces...

This was one hot little boy...

The wedding was beautiful and since most was in Korean we did not understand what was going on... but they bowed A LOT.

Aren't they cute?

Pierce was wonderful at the wedding... he was so interested in what was going on he stayed close to the action.  Even Mr. Milford said he had never seen Pierce so still.

The bride and groom parents...

Pictures in the traditional Western wedding attire.

And the food... it was amazing... so yummy and beautiful

Even had octopus on the menu which P enjoyed...

Last day of Year 1 (Kindi)

The Last day of school was bitter sweet... it meant that I no longer had a kindergartner and our little boy was growing up but it also meant that we had the whole summer ahead of us.  To be honest, the summer was a bit overwhelming for me at this point bc at the same time I was thrilled to have all that time with Pierce but then I was worried I had all that time with him... I caught myself asking the question "what did my parents do with me all summer?" and then I thought about all the summer camps and fun activities I was involved in and then I was a bit sad that I did not have these options for Pierce.  So we were going to have to make the best of it and make some lasting memories but at the same time try to forget all the great things we learned at school, so he could be ready for 1st grade when we returned.

I am writing this post late (seeing that school has already started back) but it just proves that we did have a great summer... we were busy playing, hanging out with friends, traveling the world and playing some more... not enough time to blog...you will hear all about our fun in the blogs to come.

Here are some pics of his last day in Kindergarten (year one in Korea).

Pierce with his buddy Bodhi... they will be classmates again this coming year.

His class... a mix of Year one and two kids.

He of course had some goodies waiting for him at home... ready to kick off the summer.

Lost another one... #2

Pierce lost another tooth...June 27th 2013 to be exact. This time he was at school (again) and a friend had taught him how to twist the loose tooth in a circle formation (not wiggle back and forth) and sure enough it came out.  He was so proud that he was so brave and did it.  His first permanent tooth has already grown in a bit so it only looks like he is missing one tooth in the pics but it is his second... our little man just going through the milestones.

Pierce has made several comments about the tooth fairy not being real (here and there) but when it comes down to the "right time" he did mention I hope she leaves me money and a small note.  He actually said this time I would what she is going to make the money in the shape of this time... well that is one little crafty tooth fairy... don't you think?

We are back...

We have had the best 6 weeks... but unfortunately it took me away from the blog but we are back.  The end of summer was jammed packed and if you stay tuned then I am sure you will get to see/hear all about the fun.

Here are some good flashbacks to the start of our summer... Asher was showing signs of wanting to walk, Blake's boats were coming along, and Pierce was happy that school was out and was ready for soccer camp... and me... well I don't even remember but I am sure it was good.
