Christmas made special...

Another Christmas in Singapore made special by so many loved ones... Last Christmas we were not sure if we were going to be here in Singapore for another year so I took all my decorations from last year home (really not that much). So when Dec. came around this year we had to start all over... and this year we got a 5 ft. tree... alot bigger than our 1 ft. last year... and Pierce has really enjoyed decorating it. We are not buying any ornaments this year so Pierce and I had craft day one day with Alex and we made some foam ornaments and garland...

Here Pierce is trying to put the star on top of the tree.... can you reach it?
We had to wait until Daddy got home to get his help... so much more fun doing it on daddy's shoulders.

This is our decorated tree... and Pierce put every piece on himself... it is really hard for me not to go behind him and help (or fix it) but once I saw the finish product I thought how could I touch it.... he put everything on his level so he could see it... so cute... the tree is definitely bottom heavy... usually my trees at home are top heavy.... HE HE HE

All the presents you see are from ViVi and Grandad... 25 days of Christmas.... this might be Pierce favorite thing to do everyday... he wakes up... goes to the advent calendar... finds the date in Dec. opens it up and then goes to the tree and pics out the present for that date... we play with the toy or present all day and talk about it, sleep with it, etc. and when dad comes home we get to tell him all about it... just to see Pierce's face every day when he gets loved on by his ViVi and Grandad is priceless... and I always ask him who gave that to you and he says ViVi and Grandad...

We always have so much fun opening up the presents... Pierce is just like me... we love presents... and he is spoiled just like I was... thank you ViVi and Grandad for making each day in Dec. special...

On the first day of Dec. Pierce opened up these snowmen window decals that you can take off and rearrange as you wish... since we are so far away from making a real snowman... this was a nice touch and they are still on the window for all the see.

Thanks to the Hollands, Great Aunt Linda, Great Uncle Lyle and second cousins Maggie and Bennett Pierce got another present to open early in Dec. so we could spend the whole month enjoying the story of the manger... it is a great book and Pierce opens it up and points to baby Jesus.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Denton Pierce and I got to make a memory that will last with me forever... one night we went to the post box and got a package... Pierce was on his bike and I was reading the mail... I opened the package and found a book... opened the book and a familiar sound came out... Pierce stopped in his track and came running over to pull me down so he could see it... we opened the book together and then we heard again Grandma's voice reading the first page of "The night before Christmas" and then we turned the page and heard Grandpa reading the second page... and every page was recorded in their voice.
The memory that I will never forget was during the first page... Pierce looked puzzled and confused... then we flipped the page and heard Grandpa's voice and he got the biggest smile on his face. I asked him who that was and he yelled 'Grandpa, Grandpa, Grandpa'... and I got tears in my eyes as I watched our son connect with his Grandpa's voice and listen to every word he said and we sat there in the parking lot for 10 mins as we looked at the book about 3 times.... I wish that I would have known what it was bc I would have videoed his reaction it was priceless...

Awesome! It is hard to celebrate special holidays like Christmas away from your family, but how wonderful that they are coming to you through their thoughtful presents!
