Church community at its best...

Here are some pics from our Church here in Ulsan... Bloom (where you are planted).  We are nothing fancy and we don't have any staff/pastors but we all gather together and stream in a sermon from the states and sing some songs together... it is amazing but the best part are the people and how we love on each other.  Here are some pics of a little party that we put together for a couple that just got married.  We wanted to make their new beginning in this new country special... so we had a party.

Here is a pic of our Bloom group...

Here is the bride and groom...who actually dated in high school and went their separate ways for many many years... and just found each other again earlier this year and got married last month.  They are so cute and have a great story.

I was in charge of the cake and the present... so here is my first wedding cake... he he he

And here is the gift... I sent them an email a while back and asked them to send me the names of their favorite places to go/eat/shop/etc.  And then I (with some help of friends) went around and took pics of these places/things and using these pics made them look like letters that spelled out their last name... which was really long but it turned out cute.

B- was logs of the building that is their favorite restaurant on the sea side
R - we had to throw some kimchi in the picture and this was taken on the floor of my condo where she always sits for bible study
O - a rose from the compound... to emphasize "Bloom" and all the flowers in Ulsan
U - This is a picture of the tree that is on one of their favorite walks near their house... I really did not like the way it turned out so that is why we took a pic of the gang (first picture) in the shape of a U.
S - the slide right out side where we meet for church at the compound
S - The Korean flag... that one is obvious
A - Greg works with Blake and this is a picture of the tower on their first rig here in Ulsan
R - They love to go to Ilsan beach... hence their amazing tan... and so this is the sand at the beach
D - And this is their bedroom window (turned sideways)

More hasing in Ulsan

We absolutely love Hash days... we go to church in shorts and t-shirts and right after service we join the Hash gang and off we go.  Pierce has become quite the little hiker... it is so easy for him now to do 7+km without even breaking a sweat and usually we have to ask him to slow down and stay with us.  This is one of the reasons that Blake really loves Korea and to see him so excited about the outdoors makes all of us excited.  Here are some fun pics taken by a fellow hiker... on on.

On the particular Hash we got lost and it delayed us behind the group about an hour... it was frustrating at times but it was lots of fun... and the whole gang waited for us at the end.

This was a really neat part of the hike... we went through an area that had a forest fire (sad) and all the trees were dead but new life was sprouting from the grounds... the area was huge and I kept thinking about all the houses near by... and how fearful they must have been.

On this particular Hash... Pierce and Blake got their 10th Hash badge... way to go boys.

Little man is still hanging out.

Family Hike...

Another wonderful family hike... our favorite past time in Korea.  We have been to this pine forest a bunch of times but we always seem to take the same path... this time we took a different one and it was beautiful... we even had a little adventure at the end.

This bridge/lookout was covered in locks.. not sure why but I am sure it had a special meaning.

What's this????  These ladies were calling at us so we had to go and check it out...

These ladies have a special name and it has totally slipped my mind but they go diving for these creatures (various kinds) with nothing but a wet suit and goggles and then sale it... Pierce really wanted to try a Sea Cucumber so who were we to say no?

This is what we ordered....

I could not let him eat alone.... so I had one bite and Pierce had the rest.. did not taste like anything but salt.

And just in case if you were wondering where daddy was.... standing back in the distance... he supported Pierce from afar.

I loved this little girl that we found later in our hike.... she had her bear tied to her back like an awma.

We even found a lighthouse and a little museum... we had to take a look.

Another fun adventure for the Denton Clan...
