The Bird Park with Aunt JuJu!

"OK Mom... I am ready to go to the Bird Park with Aunt JuJu... don't I look cute?"

He was already to go and man he thought he was the best dressed person... he had a grin on his face and was posing for the camera.

Thank you Aunt Shelly for the great Bird Park outfit... very appropriate for the occasion (not sure if you can tell it has little Toucans on the shirt).

I am ready to go... can you tell.

They had a waterfall at the bird park... and it is largest man made water fall in the world... it was so pretty.

Checking something out... Pierce did not fell all to well today... he was in the middle of a cold but he was such a trooper.. he never complained about how hot it was and he sat in his stroller the entire morning.

We went to two shows (with Julie's guidance we made it on time) and here was Pierce favorite called the "Bird Buddies"... it was so much fun and birds flying everywhere they even had people dressed up in costumes as birds...

Kind of a blurry shot but the best I could get.... here they had Parrots flying through hoops... it was so cool.

They had a place where you could feed the birds... at first we thought Julie was going to hold the cup and food and I was going to take pictures but that did not work very well (Julie was quick to take the camera after the first couple of birds landed on her). These birds were gorgeous... not only really friendly but so pretty/handsome.

They would just land about anywhere they could... here is one on my shoulder... freaked me out alittle bit bc I thought it was going to start nibbling on my ear...:-)

They landed on Pierce's stroller... he thought it was so cool.

Here Pierce is getting alittle to confident... he is reaching out to touch the birds tail... good job away from the head but wait and see what happened.

He got nibbled on... and if you can tell by his facial expression he did not think that was very nice of the bird... so funny... he didn't cry but it definitely put him in his place.

Here he is after the nibble.. happy again but hands are back in his lap... sometimes they have to learn the hard way.

Then one landed on my head and I was scared he was going to poop on me.

Getting tired and ready to leave... but I could not pass up sharing with you those thighs... don't you just want to bite them... HE HE HE

As a tribute to Pierce... these were his favorite.

Zoo with Julie!

When Julie was here we took here to the famous Singapore Zoo... it was great... the weather was good and animals were all out to play. Pierce was distracted by some birds.

Pierce is ready to go... here we are at the entrance... can you tell he is so excited.

Mommy... I love the fish.

The cool thing about this zoo... is there are not alot cages and alot of animals (like this monkey) are just hanging out in trees... so crazy but cool.

I don't think I have ever seen Polar Bears at a zoo... but here you go.

Cousin Lauren this is for you... see the Giraffes in the background.

Here Pierce is trying to give the Iguana some juice... our sweet boy always trying to share... I do have to admit he looked thirsty.

Not sure what they are looking at but two peas in a pod.... I think it might have been the seals.

Here is the end of the day when Pierce was trying to call all of his friends (using his robot man for a phone) to tell them all about the zoo.

Independence Day for us Americans here in Singapore!

Once again our time here in Singapore was made very special and not forgotten by the Dentons, Hal and Janet for the 4th of July. When we got back from Thailand we had a package waiting for our return full of some goodies to celebrate our Independence, the American way... with lots of red, white and blue.

Thank you Hal and Janet for making this day very special and memorable... it will forever be a 4th of July that we remember. Thank You!
Here is a pic of all the goodies... look close there is some more queso and chips... yeahhh!

A closer look... Janet even picked me out a dress... and it fits and I love it.

Here is Pierce in his socks and his straw that we are using as a dummy firework... :-)

Dad and Pierce eating some queso. Did you notice the window cling in the background... such a great idea and we love hanging our flag with pride (it is still on our mirror).

Here is our place setting... made extra special with the American flag cups, plates (not shown), cups and straws.

For dinners we had Parmesan Chicken, green beans and Queso... oh so good.

Our little All American "08"... the shirt came from Aunt JuJu, the socks from Janet and Hal and the short from mommy... it was a team effort to get him patriotic for the occasion.

Pierce at Sentosa Island!

Early on when Julie was here we took her to Sentosa Island... to see the beach and have a relaxing day.

Here are some of our pictures (all of Pierce but I thought you would like that):
Pierce at the kiddy pond... we call it the pee pond.

Pierce and daddy in the ocean.

Playing the sand...look at all that sand in his shoes.

Our baby is ONE and a HALF... slow down!

Pierce turned 1.5 years on July 4th (neat half year birthday)... now that he is 18 mos I thought I would share with you some of the things he is doing (probably for family members only :-)).

He also went to his 18 month checkup and everything looks great and Dr. said he seemed to be on track... no shots this go around but he will have to get one more when he turns 2yrs.

Pierce is 34.6 inches (97%) and 34.1 lbs (99%, but he has lost weight since his last check up here)

Pierce is/can:

-Say these words: Scout, shoe, bird, fish, mama, dada, Do Do (short for JuJu), ball, down, please, baba (short for Barney), Elmo, Bye, dog, sorry, go-g0-go. (The Dr. said he should be saying at least 10 words by 2 years... so he is on track)

- Perform to these commands: Lets go outside, Push the button, wave bye bye, Love/Love (blow kisses), say please (he can say and perform sign language), say sorry (he can do sing language), say thank you (sometimes can sign), what do you want to do (he will respond with get down), what do you say (he will respond with please), he can eat with a spoon and fork, he can drink from a straw in a cup, he can hold a cup and get mostly of the fluid in his mouth, he can close a door when asked to, he stops when you say no (sometimes :-0), he can point to himself, mom, dad and JuJu when you ask him where they are, he plays hide and seek, when you say ready set go he will start to run and play ball, he can throw the ball (really well), when you say ready set go in the water he will start to swim with his floaties on, when you say do you want to get in trouble he knows that timeout is coming.

- He can build with blocks 2-3 blocks high

- He is getting better at climbing stairs and going down stairs

- He can go down the slide by himself on his belly

- Hilarious things that he does now: He has started to be bashful with the ladies (see the pics), when we need to pay the taxi he takes the money out of my hand and wants to hand it to the driver, when we pull up to our condo he knows to wave to the security guards to let us in, when he sees something really cool he will make his lips in an O shape and say "oh". When mommy and daddy kiss he wants to break it up and give us both kisses... and if Aunt JuJu is around she gets one too.

- Schedule: Wakes up around 8am, plays until lunch, has lunch around 12:30 and then gets a nap for about 1.5-2 hours, plays, eats dinner, bath at 7:30, bed at 8pm (yes 12 hours of sleep... awesome).

I am sure there is lots more (that I am missing), but I just wanted to have this documented and keep the grandparents up to speed on our fast growing boy.

Here are some pics of our bashful boy (I think he was mad here too but you get the picture)... he raises up his shoulders and buries his face in his shoulder usually with a smile but here I think he was mad:

********************************************************
Aunt JuJu gave this present to Pierce... his reaction is so cute.

This was the first time that I think he really understood what unwrapping a present was all about... so cute.

I think he might be a little OCD like his mama... he wanted to hand me every little piece of paper that he tore off.

Here he is putting the paper into the duster... I love it when he is clean but don't be fooled this does not happen all the time.

We eventually made it to the box... he was getting so excited.

When he saw that it was a GUITAR... he started dancing... it was like he knew it made music... it was so cute... you can see him here so happy.

He loves his guitar and figuring out how it makes music... needs some major tuning but it will work for now.

Our happy boy... happy 18 mos.

Can you tell his loves his BLUE guitar?

This is the face I was talking about when he sees something that he really likes or thinks that is cool... he will say "OH" sometimes followed by boy... "OH BOY".

Still dancing and having a good time with his new guitar.

Pierce playing with his new guitar.
