Asher at 10 mos.

Asher John at 10 months

10kg - 80th percentile (decrease from previous month)
77cm in length -95th percentile (increase from previous month)
48cm in head circumference -  100th percentile (same from previous months)

Eating - A LOT.  He can pretty much eat everything that we eat as long as it does not require to much chewing.  He had fish for the first time (halibut) and loved it.  He has yet to reject anything

Sleeping - The same... still two naps and 12 hours at night... but he is definitely getting more opinionated when you lie him down for his naps.  I am not sure if he is trying to work it down to one nap or if he is more mobile now so he likes to cruise around the bed for about 15 min. before he goes to sleep.  I am hoping that we keep the two naps for a couple more months... only time will tell.

Sounds - Saying Dada and Mama and we believe the first word was Dada... but it usually goes like this Dada Dada Dada Dada.

Best Trait - He is a sweet baby but I still think the best thing about him is how much he loves his daddy and brother.  Either one of them walk into room and the whole world stops spinning.  I love it.

Nick Name - same... Bubby has stuck and Pierce recently gave him a new one... LB for little brother and Pierce's is BB for big brother.

Firsts - Crawling... he is on all fours now... really not moving around really fast and still takes a few blows to the face every now and then... but I am not really encouraging the crawling so it could be my fault.  Also Asher got a walker and is cruising in it around the house.  Loves to chase his brother but at times get confused with backwards and forwards.  And if he gets stuck in a room and can't see anyone he gets mad.  Also Asher got his two front teeth this past month.  Kids always look so much older with the two front teeth so it is a happy/sad moment.  Asher can now clap and loves it when he realizes he is doing it all by himself... such a big boy.

Updates - Teeth... wow... we got a lot of new teeth... we have 4 on the bottom and the two front on top have broken the skin and the ones next to them look like they are coming any day.  Asher has really felt this round of teeth... he has been really telling us all about it (in his own way), including a lot of drool, snot, ear tugging, complaining and even the runs.

Big Brother:  The other night we were having dinner and I said "Bubba I love you" and Pierce did not say anything back... I asked him if he heard me and he said yes and I thought you were talking to Asher.  I said Asher is bubby and you are bubba right?  Pierce then told me I need to say it to Bubby so he does not feel jealous.

Memorable moment:  The night of Asher's 10 month marker he was in the ER... a brief visit when I drove out of the parking lot the computer told me I had only been there for 29 minutes... 29 minutes to park, walk, check in, get a short vital, see the doctor, leave, walk, drive out of parking garage... 29 min... man that is efficiency at its finest... oh well I am sure you are asking why were we at the hospital... well at bath time... daddy was in charge and put Asher in the tub with water and instructed big brother to watch him (to make sure he did not hurt himself) while Daddy went to sit on the toilet (which was only 3 feet away).  Well you can imagine what comes next... yes Asher tries to stand up, brother panics and tries to get him to sit down (softly) but then Asher slips and goes under water, daddy comes running off the toilet to save the day.  After a few tears and some coughs we think all is well, until I give Asher a bottle and the kid is out cold (a sleep).  Even brother and daddy come to say goodnight which usually gets Asher all excited but tonight there was just rolling of the eyes into the back of the head.  So I put him in bed and nothing... no crawling, no chatting, just out... so we get on google (which is never a good idea) and we start reading about all the TERRIBLE things that could happen if a child gets water in their lungs and one symptom is extreme tiredness... So Blake gave me the look and said lets take him to the doctor... so we did... and the hospital was fabulous... great service.. in and out and it was FREE... and the best news... Asher was fine.

Here are some pics of Asher at 10 mos...

This is a new face... love it...

Disclaimer:  I took these pics a little later than his 10 month marker and he got a couple more teeth since then and now... but I just had to add this picture... just imagine him with only two teeth on top.

Here's that face again....

We adore our little 3 mos. old

Asher John at THREE months
7.2 kg (16 lbs) - 85th percentile
64.77 cm (25.5 in) in length - 95th percentile (a huge growth... trying to catch up to brother)
42.4 cm (16.7in) in head cir. - 100th ++ percentile (still a big melon)

Eating - every three to four hours during the day, with last one at 10pm and the next at 7:30am

Sleeping - Yeah... sleeping through the night... goes to bed around 8pm, then I wake him at 10 for a dream feed and then he sleeps until 7:30am (when I have to wake him up so we can take Pierce to school)... he sleeps on and off during the day still no real schedule during the day.

Sounds - All kinds of noises and definitely getting more vocal

Smiles - His smile has turned into a laugh... which is a big open mouth laugh with not much sound but so so cute

Happy - Extremely

Best Trait - patient and a ladies man already... any lady that speaks to him will get a big smile... guaranteed to make your day

Cries - hardly never... on occasions when he wakes and is hungry

Nick Name - Asher Johnny Boy

Firsts - no real changes since 2 mos (thank you God)... still swinging the legs and trying to suck on his hand (his whole hand).  He is holding his head up more and more each day... while in the car seat he will lean forward like he is trying to get out and really giving his abs a workout.

Updates - Sleeping through the night... we are so thrilled.  Also Asher now has his own passport and a US birth certificate... Yeah He is American...

Are you ready for the photos... sorry I just could not pick a favorite... so you get them all...

Ok I lied... the next one is my favorite... but you are still getting them all.

This is what a sneeze looks like:

The next three pics deserve a story... the first one it seemed that Asher was dazed so I asked Pierce to make him smile (which is easy to do)... so here comes Pierces hand to place on top of his head... and I tell you what if Pierce pays any attention to Asher (for example Pierce could step on his toe, yell his name, etc.) the next 2 pictures is what you get... He loves his big brother.

The hand is quickly removed and I get a pic of that sweet smile... which usually turns into a laugh (the pic below is of Asher laughing at his big brother).

"Hey mom... your kind of boring... where is big brother?"

The next set of pics of just of Asher growing up this past month... and all the fun we have been having watching him do so...

The next picture is proof that Asher is not like his brother when it comes to sleeping... Pierce was swaddled as tight as could be for the first 8 months but Asher he likes to spread out...

The weather is getting colder here..... and thanks to the Unruh's we are prepared... Asher all wrapped up in his green onsie...

Some pics I grabbed with my phone (so they are not great)... but check out the sequence.

1)  I was not talking to him... he was just checking out the room and taking it all in... so still..

2).  Hey Asher... "YES"

Whatcha doing?  and this is his response... nothing but smiles...

Here Daddy is having a great time with Asher before bed time... there is nothing like a good rest after a bunch of laughter and coo's...

Asher is starting to respond to voices, touch, smiles, and grab a hold of toys... so fun to watch him have so much fun... here he is with his doggie and when the doggie attacks it really cracks him up...

Asher... 2 months!

Asher John at TWO months
6kg (13.2 lbs) - 75th percentile
58.4 cm (23in) in length - 50th percentile (a big drop from last month)
42.5 cm (16.7in) in head cir. - 100th percentile (still a big melon)

Eating - every three to four hours
Sleeping - between every other feeding during the day and goes to bed at 9pm wakes again at 2-3am for a feeding, goes right back to sleep, wakes again at 6-7am and starts the day
Sounds - A-woo's (favorite sound to do with daddy)
Smiles - anytime you talk to him, sing to him, or just smile at him... smiles all the time
Happy - Extremely
Best Trait - patient
Cries - when tired and when we stop feeding him to burp him
Nick Name - Asher Boy, Asher John
Firsts - still really trying to suck on his thumb/finger (getting much better) and starting to twist his upper body like he wants to roll over (oh no... I am not ready).
Updates - He no longer wants to sleep on his belly, he is all back now.  Loves to watch his brother talk and walk around the room.  Asher also loves to be laid down flat when he gets tired (not to be held to closely).

Asher is doing a really good job at holding up his head and actually got to sit in the bumbo for the first time this month.

Pierce really loves his little brother... if there is every a chance to hug/hold/talk/kiss him, Pierce is on it.  Every morning he wakes up he has to give Asher a kiss and before he goes to bed Asher gets more kisses. We just love to watch these two as brothers... Recently Pierce came home from school and said that he has some bro's at school and one brother... I asked him what that meant and he said "well Asher is my brother but my friends are my bro's, they are just brothers that you don't live with".

These are the booties that I used to tell Blake that we were pregnant...it feels so long ago since I purchased these in Singapore.

This next picture is a good picture of our house...Mommy, Daddy and Asher longing to take naps...but Pierce is full of energy

Check out these videos...
Here Daddy, Aunt JuJu and Pierce are trying to get Asher to talk... do you think he has a fan club or what...

Here are a couple of smiles and frowns...

Camera Shy but still really cute
