Thanksgiving with the Singapore Supper Club - 2nd year!

Another wonderful Thanksgiving in Singapore... Thanksgiving 2010 with friends and some of their family members.

We got to spend another thanksgiving feast with some of the supper club friends (2009 here) and the host this year the Harkless' had some family members in town which made it feel a little more like home... we sure did have a good time and some great food... yum yum.

We have so much to be thankful for this year and we talk about that all the time here in our house.. God has really made himself real to us this year and shown us in everything just how he is a God that was and that is and is to come...

We are very grateful for our family and the way that they love on us through the miles.... they never let us forget how we are thought of and loved and that sure does make living in Singapore that much easier.

We are thankful for our church here in Singapore and our friends... both of these pick up us when we are down and walk beside us when we are up... and not a day goes by where we don't remember just how important they are to us here in Singapore our home away from home.

Happy Thanksgiving (I know it is December when I am writing this but better late than never)... we are always thankful.

Saying Goodbyes... but not leaving yet!

...

At the beginning of this year we thought we were leaving Singapore at the end of May so at the beginning of May it was only natural for us to start saying our goodbyes... which we did... and they carried out until the middle of May when we found out that we would be here until the end of June... so the goodbye's have begun but we still do not have a ticket in hand or know when we are leaving... and we just found out a couple of days ago that we might be here until the end of July... so it looks like another round of goodbye's are in order...

I had to say goodbye to all of my MOPS friends... you will see more about this later.

Then our Women's Director is also leaving soon so there have been a couple of parties for her where I was able to hug on some people... and say goodbye.

Dinner with our neighbors... boy are we going to miss them...

And what we thought was going to be our last Supper Club... we are so excited to be here another 2 months but I don't think I can take saying goodbye again... it is always hard to say goodbye... and just like many times in our lives when you make a big move it is just hard to say that we will see each other again.. because you just never know... I have come up with a saying when I feel like I am hugging someone for the last time I say "I am not going to say goodbye.. bc we still got heaven"... makes me feel better.

Summer is always a hard time here bc that is when a bunch of people travel with their families and/or take a long vacation back home (where they are from) bc the kids are out of school and hubbies can take time off... so some of the goodbye's that have taken place bc they have already left Singapore but when they return we will not be here... but with no tickets yet... you just never know...

Where have we been...

...

Where have we been... you know you are in trouble when your grandma calls your mom and says "Camille has not updated the blog... what are they up to"... well this is what we have been up to:

A little bit of this: Activites!
A little more of this: Spending time with friends!
And a lot of this....packing!

Not only are we approaching the end of the school year here (end of MOPS and other activities at church) but we only have 5 more weeks left here in Singapore... and I feel like I am running out of time with my friends and visiting all the places that Singapore has to offer... it will be bitter sweet for sure...
I promise to return to blogging soon (maybe tomorrow).

March Madness... Rock Style!

...

March Supper Club was so much fun at the Unruh's house... in lu of March Madness we had our own version... to find the best Rock Song of all time (or should I say our time)... Gillian and Jamey came up with the bracket of songs against one another... there were rock songs from the 70's, 80's, and 90's... who do you think won...

Here is our gang...

We were suppose to wear rock shirts but the Unruh's were the only ones who had them... go figure...

OK.. here are the brackets... and the first round of winners...sweet 16....who is going to win... if you are wondering how this worked... we would listen to both of the songs that were up against each other and then we would vote... sometimes it was a no brainer and then at times we needed a tie breaker (that is where the quarter came into play)....never knew there were that many GREAT rock songs... but we only really scratched the surface.

Our referee... Jamey... he's a big Led Zeppelin fan... he was the only one.

Down to the final four... the Willerton's had to leave but kept on going...

A serious look from Blake... it is close....

We girls aren't so stressed... we have a good feeling who will win...

The Championship Game was between Aerosmith 'Dream On' and Def Leppard "Pour some Sugar on Me'... who would you want to win...

Aerosmith it was... we actually had to do a tie breaker (quarter) here to get this one... but it was fair... I was in favor of 'PSSOM' but I like 'Dream On' too... great game Unruh's... looking forward to the next one.

Thanksgiving with the Singapore Supper Club!

Thanksgiving night the Custer's put on a great feast for our November Supper Club gathering... it is always great to get together with this group and it made Thanksgiving alot easier being so far away from alot of loved ones that we are thankful for during this time.

Our gang (minus the Willerton's who had to leave early and the Harkless who could not make it).
A great table display... and look at the yum yum food.... and it was yum yum...

Before our bellies were full (and Jennifer and Justin were still here... they had to leave early bc their son hurt himself).
After our bellies were full.

The girls after dinner.... relaxing and getting ready to play a game.

The boys... acting crazy... and yes they were posing...

The game of choice was a game from Australia called something like "roll the pigs" and depending on the stature in which they land you get points... sounds stupid yes I know but after the first round and making up alot of position titles you get really into it... we played 3 rounds and I won one and Blake won one... competitive family...but alot of fun.....

A great night with friends... and thanks for making the memory of our Thanksgiving 2009 so special.

SSC - Murder Mystery Night!

The Singapore Supper Club was a blast this past weekend.... Jenn and Toby Harkless were the host and they put on the best Murder Mystery Dinner Show ever... we had a blast and enjoyed making memories... still laughing at the pics.

We arrived at the MV Tipanic Cruise ship around 6:30 to find out who killed Stew Driver (the 4th engineer on board the MV Tipanic).

Just like on a real cruise we had to take photos... here is our gang... we all dressed up as our character.

Introducing the host for the night... Jen (aka Sally Shipshape the Cruise Director) and Toby (aka

Camille (aka. Fifi Galores as the Chorus Girl) and Blake (aka Walter Ski the Aussie water sports instructor)

Gillian (aka Trikki Shuffles as the croupier) and Jamey (aka Al Fresco the chef)

Melanie (aka Tilly Operator as the shop assistant) and Jacob (aka. Sylvester Stillstoned the Barman).

Jessica (aka. Wanda Lust the masseuse) and Travis (aka. Barry Glitter the entertainer and also FiFi's boss).

Jennifer (aka. Lola Lilo the pool attendant and also the girlfriend to the deceased) and Justin (aka. Captain Birdseye the Captain).

It sure was a great night of acting, laughing, getting to be someone else, getting all dressed up... but most of all letting guys be guys and the girls be girls... and I loved the feathers... and I actually had nothing to do with picking out the character... thanks Jenn for making the night memorable for all.

After alot of DRAMA... we finally found out that Barry (also named Glitter Buns by my husband) was the killer... so we of course (as dancers) had to get a pic together... with jazz hands...

I just love supper club... looking forward to Novembers... where Jessica and Travis are going to have a Thanksgiving Feast... yippeee...
