Have you ever been to a bible study like this....
Have you ever been to a bible study like this... if not it is a must do... I am in a bible study with 11 other ladies and we studied the book "Do you think I am beautiful" so we thought it would be fitting to end the study with a pedicure and manicure... now that is what I call studying God's word.

5th Day - alot of relaxing and eating...
Another great day.... Day 5 was alot of relaxing and eating... we started the day dropping Pierce off and then heading back to Holland Village (I had another meeting with some people from MOPS) but Julie got her toes done and then we headed to Chip Bee Gardens for a WONDERFUL lunch (mom you would love this place)... we had tea and fresh rice spring rolls (avocado/mango, beef, shrimp/cilantro)... it was a lovely place.... I will be back for sure...

I could get use to this kind of tea...

We had a quiet afternoon at the house with Pierce and then us grow-ups headed down to ChinaTown... Duxton Hill... Blake and I have never been here but we have heard alot of great things about it... It is an old shop house district (one street) and they have turned it into a restaurant/office district... there were about 6 different restaurants to choose from... and we picked an Australian one named ULURUH... there were alot of French ones as well.

Sunny is a coworker of Blake's (and our friend of course) and his family is here in Singapore visiting from Texas... Sunny has an older son named Neville and Pierce has adopted him as his big brother... they play Lego's together, swim together and Pierce seems to get in alot of trouble too... they are best buds.

Sunny, Sogie and Neville (and Pierce... he is the blonde one)

Pierce always has adored Sunny...

Day and Night 11 - A busy one...
Saturday started off with us leaving Great Mama at home to keep her feet up while the rest of us (excluding Blake since he was at work) went to Holland Village for some shopping. Grandad was in charge of Pierce, so ViVi and I could do some damage... lets just say we left a mark.

After shopping, Pierce and I came back home to meet up with Great Mama and Daddy and while most people were taking naps... I snapped a shot of a funeral that was taking place across the street... they held the service in a house and then the tradition for Asians is to load the casket in a see through van and have the family and friends walk behind the vehicle while placing a hand on the car... A walk to honor the dead.

After we all had our rest... Cena came to play with Pierce and the adults headed to Robinson Quay for dinner... we were blessed with a sneak peek at the rehearsal show for the National Day here in Singapore. Here is the pic of a fly over with the Singapore flag...

Also at this time... the River Festival is taking place..we got to see this cool boat docked for a rest... pretty interesting.

After dinner we headed to Clark Quay to wait for our 10pm reservation at the Grand Ballini (do you remember our New Years celebration.... we love this place and had to take everyone there). While we were waiting we saw a Martini Grand Prix Contest taking place...

And we watch the kite show... these are coolest things... I could not get a good shot of them in the sky bc they go so fast but a must see here in Singapore.

Our next (and last) stop of the night was Grand Ballini... we meet our friend Geoffrey there to watch the band. We had forgotten about the dress code for men... luckily they had on long pants but you are suppose to wear closed toed shoes... so the guys had to buy socks and then wear them with their shoes... I of course had to get a shot of this embarrassing moment.

Here are the guys waiting for the show...

Of course us ladies had to sit on the red couch... I have to get one of these... :-) We could not get Geoffrey in the pic bc he was talking to the waiter.

We got home a little after midnight (we would like to blame it on Great Mama in having to get home at a descent time but I think we were all tired)... we all sleep like a baby.

The Denton's have arrived!

The Denton's have arrived... and we are so happy to see them. They got here at midnight last night but the above picture was taken this morning after 6 hours of sleep. Everyone is feeling and looking good so we are having a jam packed day.

After breakfast, showers and getting ready we headed for Holland Village for shopping and eating in their first taxi ride in Singapore.

After buying some wall hangings and walking around (in the rain) we had lunch at a local Hawker stall.... We had take out for lunch and headed home. Everyone is now taking a nap (except me) bc tonight will be a busy and late one. Church, dinner, orchard road, and fireworks at midnight at the marina. More to come.

Holland Village!
I would call Holland Village my stomping grounds... not that close but the closest place to me that has a Starbucks, grocery store, nail salon and shopping... I love it there.
I took my parents there for day while Pierce was in school.

Do you remember my wall tapestry made out of Indian Wedding dresses? Well my mom wanted one so we went to the shop and she bought 5 of them... she loved that and Dale and her could not make up there mind so they bought them all. The above picture is not theirs but wanted to show you what it looks like again.
I have been wanting to take my parents to a Hawker center (local food) and this A rated air conditioner is the best I could do... They serve Laska here and you get to pick 8 items (fresh meat and vegetables) and they cook and put it in a soup form for you to eat... all for $4.90 sing dollars.

Here is the finished version... we all enjoyed our Laska and had a good time... don't forget to bring napkins if you go bc you have to pay for them there.
