15 hours and counting... JuJu will be here.

We have been waiting for this day for a long time... Aunt JuJu is coming back to Singapore... Pierce put on his calendar about a month ago JuJu's name and his house on the 18th of May for when JuJu arrives (really the morning of the 19th but who would dare correct the calendar after this sweet drawing).

We have been waking up every morning to cross off the day and counting down... Yesterday morning Pierce woke up so excited to see we only had one more day. This morning I woke up anxious to see how excited he was going to be this morning... and this is what I saw...

Pierce is sick... running a low fever but very lethargic and has not moved off the couch all morning... oh no... we are trying to get him well so when JUJU gets here she can see the excited boy that he has been all month... what a bad time to get sick but I am sure JuJu will be the best dose of any medicine we can find.

We just realized that the last time JUJU was here was in 2009... seems so long ago.. and Pierce was so little... we will have so much fun and so much to do... you will see us again I am sure.

How many times can one person go to the toliet...

...

Pierce has been sick since last Monday... we are officially going on 7 days of running to the toilet when it is time. He came home from school on Monday with a upset stomach, after visiting the doctor on Tuesday we have what we believe are little tiny bacteria living in Pierce's stomach... we have been on meds for several days, had a fever for several days... and we are still running to the toilet. Poor baby. Pierce has never fallen a sleep on the couch (maybe when he was like 2 months old but that is it)... here he is passed out cold... Hoping that the little bacteria go away before we have to leave on a jet plane in less than 48 hours... hurry up.

Little guy had a bad week...

...

Our little guy had a bad week last week... he woke up on Sunday so happy... had breakfast and then carried his metal spoon around... Violet was over and she likes to carry a spoon so Pierce was carrying his spoon... but Pierce decided to fall and shove the metal spoon up his nose... and you can imagine what was next... lots of tears... lots of blood and Violet trying to help him... which was so sweet... we finally got Pierce to calm down and the nose to stop bleeding... and pose for the below picture of course... we have to capture every moment in this house... :-)
Well that was just the beginning... his nose got better but that night he seemed really hot so we checked his temp and it was high... we gave him some meds and put him to bed... he woke the next morning... this went on for 3 days until he got a 103.5 temp and I took him to the doctor... he said it was the flu and sent us home (not to concerned)... we slept some more... we did alot of that these 3 days (the pictures will show you how he would lie on the couch for days)... the fourth day he did not have a temp but had a small rash on his tummy... that was the last symptom and he was back in full swing on Thursday.... we missed our little guy but it sure was nice to cuddle with him for 3 days..

You guys are so sweet....

Well I officially have received over 30 emails in regards to Pierce's rash... you guys rock... I love you guys so much... some family, some friends and some strangers... THANK YOU!

Just to answer some of the questions I have received... Pierce is fine... no temp... no other symptoms besides the rash.

The consensus is that he has Fifth Disease (a virus and should go away soon)... I have also read that once you get the rash you are no longer contagious...

I will keep a watch on it and keep you updated... Thanks again... I owe you one.

Does anyone know what this is????

Does anyone know what this is... Pierce has developed this red face rash thingy... if you take off his shirt over his head or touch his face or if any friction happens on his face (like climbing on the couch and he puts his head on the cushions) he breaks out in the red rash for like 30 seconds and then it disappears. He has had it for 1 week now and my Danish friend (that was a teacher back in Denmark) says that it is common and she is not sure what it is called in English but from Danish to English it is translated to "slap virus"... does anyone know anything about it...????

In this picture I just took off a shirt over his head and he got a streak above his eyes in the shape of a V and there is another line on his upper lip and red cheeks.

Has anyone seen this before? Do I need to take him to the dr.?

Do you believe in the myth "Cabin Fever"...

Does anyone else watch Mythbusters.... I absolutely love this show.... it right up their with my boyfriend Mike Rowe's show "Dirty Jobs"...side note: the two main guys on Mythbusters are not my boyfriend...so back to the point... I was watching MB the other day and they were testing out the myth of "Cabin Fever" and ironically I was doing my own test while Pierce and were stuck at the house with the crud for about 10 days... through more extensive research and a more ideal situation/environment they on MB found the myth of "cabin fever" to be REAL... In our own test at the Denton News House... we totally 100% agree and have pictures to prove of our "going crazy/boredom/tiredness state of mind...

This was Pierce making a "mean face"... check out that bed head.

More mean faces... and the arms always have to be moving like he is showing off his muscles.

The ultimate mean face.... if you are wondering why all of these pictures are fuzzy it is bc before I got the camera Pierce had the camera and put a snotty finger print right on the lens.... so it makes for a perfect picture of our week... snot and all.

Look at Pierce's leg... is that even possible...

Taking pics of Pierce playing with the blocks... out of boredom realized what a cool reflection there was on the tile and had to capture.... didn't turn out how I expected but none the less proves the point of how bored we were...

Then I got to play with Picasa....oh how fun.

Do you believe in the myth "Cabin Fever"???
P.S. Thank you for all the encouragement, calls, prayers, emails, text, etc... Pierce and I both are so much better... today was the first day that Pierce held down some food and seems to be back to his normal self and mom no longer has a headache and can breath again... thank you so much!

Mama's Day 2009 - one we will never forget!

Well as most of you know Pierce has been fighting the crud for about a week and mommy started feeling bad on Saturday...so daddy took us out to get away from the house... cabin fever really bad. Saturday we headed to the mall (one of the many here in Shopping mall Capital of the world) to get the mommy day present (that we were not expecting to get but seemed like a good idea when we saw it) and have some dinner at the Thai restaurant... Pierce had not been eating all week and I knew that he would not be able to pass up some egg rolls and friend rice from Thai Accent... and we were right.

Just to back up... I got these beautiful flowers from Daddy on Friday... I just love Lillies... they are my favorite. And the maroon bag is from the Thai Accent on Saturday when we were leaving they gave me this bottle or Perrier with a note that said Happy Mother's Day... the Thai culture is so nice... what a sweet gesture.

Mothers Day was complete for me.... just that it fell on a Sunday (the only day we get the whole day with Daddy) and that all 3 of us would be together was a blessing enough... and as you know I got Anju on Friday... I did not need anything else...

But there were other things in store for us all...OK... now for Sunday morning (mothers day here in Singapore)... we got to sleep in (thank you) until 9:30am (the whole house was a sleep and it was great). But we woke to Pierce saying Mama, Mama, Mama... well if you have read my earlier post you will know what that means... Yes we found him covered in Diarrhea and Vomit AGAIN... on Mother's Day no less... His spirits were high but after daddy gave him a bath and mommy changed his sheets and cleaned his room... we saw how skinny our little man is getting... this is what will happen when a 2 year old refuses to eat... or when he does it comes back out within seconds... but as you can tell he is still happy.

Pierce was in a good mood but Mama was not... All I really needed was some NyQuil, a drainage spout and some more rest (yes after 10 hours of sleep the night before) and I would be just fine... but when I saw Pierce's face I wanted nothing more than to be awake and to be comforted by our sweet boy.

We did a have a great day just lying around the house, playing with blocks, coloring, playing with play dough, laughing, watching movies, not much eating happened.... but a day that we will forever remember together.

Here was my surprise Mother's day present... oh how I wanted this... a faster (much faster) computer...

And a printer... when we arrived in Singapore we did not want to buy alot of electronics bc we could not take them back home (and we have a bunch of stuff just sitting in storage waiting on our return) but we had suffered a whole year without a printer (and Blake's sweet assistant having to print stuff out for me all the time at work).... so they threw this in as a promotion when we bought the computer... yippppeee...

We finished the night... building a tent under the dining room table and acting like we were all a sleep... oh how I love this smile... oh how I love this boy. You make me so proud.
Oh my sweet Pierce....

If you only knew how much I adore you. I often ask people if they too want to take a big bite out of their children like I do you... I have had this crazy obsession since I first set eyes on you... Although it sounds crazy I often hear that it is normal to want to bite your children... just to eat them up.

The mornings that I wake before you... I sit outside your door waiting to hear the first peep just so I can be the first face you see and to see your sweet smile and bed hair in the morning.

The days that go by to fast... I pray that I could have them back again.

The days that go by to slow... I remind myself how thankful I am for you and know that my life would not be the same without you... I quickly remember that I want everyday to go by slowly.

The days that went by when you were not talking much to the day I could not stop you from talking even if I tried... I thought where did my baby go... and I must have said it out loud bc you replied by saying "Pierce is mama's baby"... you will always be my baby.

I am honored that God picked me to be your mommy (and your daddy to be your daddy)... we are humbled by the thought of how you are HIS first and then ours... we pray for you daily and just love to watch you grown into the little man God has you to be.

May I, as your mommy, do all that I can to encourage you, praise you, train you, teach you, love on you, adore you, but to remember the best thing I can do for you is to Worship and Love HIM first.

You are my sweet PD BIRD and I am blessed to be your mama. I love you!

Still Sick... yuck!

We have added Humidity (humidifier)... but you can tell by the picture we are still having fun.

We have added more rest...Pierce just lying on the couch drinking his juice... but he has learned after 6 days of this if he drinks anything or eats anything it will just come back out almost immediately. So he only drinks now... no more eating... :-(

We have added alot of whining... did I say ALOT of whining.

We have added alot more snot.... yuck... never knew a kid could have so much junk up his nose.

We we have added alot more surprises for mama in the morning... I made this picture black and white to spare you all the details... but for the past couple of morning there has been alot of poopy but this special morning there was vomit all over Pierce, his pillow, scout and his covers... Oh how I wish I could just make him well.
P.S. Mama is now sick... We are hoping for a great Mothers Day where we are all feeling better and back to our normal selves.

Never been more happy with Tonsillitis and a Sinus Infection!

Starting on Saturday Pierce had a horrible deep cough which shortly turned into a runny nose and temperature. Under normal circumstances I would have given him some extra love and maybe some Motrin but things aren't that normal are they... with all of this Swine Flu hype going on (no none cases in Singapore) I was a little freaked out. We did not go to church on Sunday bc of his condition so we had a lazy morning and Pierce seemed only to get worse. He had a low temperature, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, achy, etc... Monday morning this is what he looked like... he just wanted to sit there...so I got a little nervous and Blake told me to call the dr. to just make myself feel better... that is all I needed and off we went.
When we arrived at the dr.'s office they immediately took my temperature and Pierce's. Pierce did not have a temp. at the time bc the Motrin had set in but since he was coughing and had a runny nose they wanted him to wear the mask (he would not so they "sort of" isolated us)... All the personnel were wearing these masks and everyone had their temp. taken... even a guy who came in to get his stitches looked at...

After seeing the dr... I have never been more happy to hear that Pierce has Tonsillitis and a Sinus Infection... Thank you God. We are good but on medicine and trying to get lots of rest to get better.

I have a little itch in my nose and my throat is sore so I am headed to take some Zicam now... hope to have the family healthy again soon... for now we are enjoying each other and staying inside.

Sick Baby!

When we first got back to Singapore, Pierce immediately got the infamous runny nose (allergies)...it has now turned into a temperature, deep wet cough and fussiness. We could not go to church today so this is what we did... laid around all morning... sweet baby.

This was taken at 5pm yesterday when I HAD to wake Pierce up from his nap... he was sleeping so well (probably bc of the medicine :-0) but we feared he would not go to bed that night... look how sweet, sleeping with his scout. It always amazes me that he stays under his covers...
