Ladies Tea 2012 at IBC

One of my favorite events at IBC.. is the ladies Tea in May.  This was the first year that I did not decorate a table but it was nice sitting with friends and enjoying the morning (without working :-).  Here are just a few pics of the morning... I was not able to take pics of all the tables... bc by the time I stopped talking the host of the tables were tearing them down.

We were leaving Singapore in a few days so this was a sad farewell with lots of friends... they even had three of us come forward to say thank you which I was not expecting but happy to report that I "held it together".  So thankful for all that the Women's Ministry gave to me, provided me, taught me, and loved on me through the years.

Chubby Bunny at VBS!

Friday we were to roast marshmallows by the campfire... but for some reason every time I see a marshmallow I think about Chubby Bunny... if you don't know who Chubby Bunny is you have got to check out the video of the kids below... but basically you put marshmallows in your mouth and try to talk and you see who can do the most marshmallows with out spitting them out or getting sick... we learned 4 bible verses that week so we all got 4 marshmallows on the skewer and put one marshmallow in our mouth and had to say the first verse... leave it in add another and then say the next verse... and we kept going until we got all 4 verses.... we only had one kid that was about to gag... it was so much fun and the most we laughed all week...

OK... I think we made it... this will be the last blog entry about VBS... I know know... you have got to be tired of hearing about VBS but what a blessing it is always to me.... I could talk about it for weeks and weeks... one of my highlights of every year... this year was great bc I got to serve alongside of one of my good friends... it was a great one...

Day 4 and 5 were the last days at VBS but we made the best of it... Day 4 Pierce got play with bubbles and play dough... they got to sing songs about Jesus and got lots of love from the teachers.

When I came to pick Pierce up my friend was videoing her boy and Pierce dance to the theme song this year... Pierce keeps looking at the door where I am... to make sure I was still watching him... oh how I love this boy... he is sweaty bc the AirCon was broken again on Day 4... Praise God it worked for the last day.

Day 5 was a special day... bc all the kids were so excited and this is the day that we ask the children if they have any questions, want to make commitments to love God, or want to learn more information... some of us teachers were busy loving on these children that had questions so Pierce had to stay in the nursery extra long but I made it up to him... he got to go on stage with the big kids at the end of the day to practice for the BIG show that night... We snuck him in on the side of the stage... and at first he loved it... was totally into it.

Then all of sudden he started to get a little shy (I think bc they got a song that he did not know and it embarrassed him... but not sure)... so here he is right before he wanted down... rolling up his shirt... he was precious.

After he got down we headed up stairs to get a good shot... what a blessing... look at this sweet children.. there are over 400 children on stage Praising God... now that will take your breath away...

Friday night they have the BIG show where all the parents get to come and see their children perform the worship songs they have learned through the week. Pierce was really upset that he could not be on stage with the kids... so my friend took a picture of him... so cute.

The big performance... God is so good.

Thank you Jesus for another wonderful safe fun-filled God driven VBS... you are amazing!

Day 3 a little better...

Day 1 I left out that Pierce had a rough day in the nursery... he is the oldest and biggest kid in the class... and I think he was having some "i am the king" issues... and was caught by me twice hitting a teacher... I think on the back as a playful thing but no good none the less... so his punishment was he could not go to VBS on day 2... so he went to school and Day 3 he was back again for another chance... and he did much better... This time in the nursery they kept playing the theme video/music and Pierce just danced all day... by the time I came to pick him up he was sweaty (bc the aircon had broken) but having a great time... he was getting ready to go to assembly with the big kids again.

We had some time to spare after lunch and before assembly so we followed the big kids into music class... oh boy how much fun... at first we were sitting on the side lines learning the motions to the songs... but you will see in the video that Pierce wanted to be on stage with the big kids...

Ok we have mastered the motions and we are ready for assembly... lets go... this time he wanted to sit with the big big kids... Pre Teens... and they loved him.

A great day... looks like we get to go back tomorrow... can't wait.

Day One of VBS was the first day I figured out how bad Pierce wanted to be with the big boys.. he kept asking me if we could go to the show... he was referring to the assembly time when all the kids get together at the end and sing together before they go home... here we are for the first time sitting in the back... Pierce is mesmerized.

Then he starts joining in...

He had such a good day... he came home with his hat and had to pose... and I of course had to get the camera... so cute... my little cowboy... we have got to get this kids some boots...

A great first day for Pierce... every day he gets a little more crazy at VBS... learning the songs and dancing of course...
