Time to go to Texas... 2013

After a great couple of weeks with JuJu in Korea we followed her to Texas (on different planes).  We got an unexpected opportunity to go home bc Daddy had to go to the gulf... so we hoped on a plane with him to see family and get some good food from home.  We were all excited for a three week trip back home... it was going to be packed (our plans were to see family in Seattle, visit family and friends in Texas, see doctors about getting Asher circumcised, getting our teeth cleaned, shopping and eating.  It was going to be busy... we got our bags packed and we were ready to go.

Since Blake was going on Business... he got Business seats but he let Asher an I take them.  We had a total of three legs.  Busan to Tokyo, Tokyo to Dallas and then Dallas to Houston. The first leg Asher had his own seat (things were starting off very well).

 

Time to eat... 

 

 

Once we landed in Tokyo we had a short lay over and then we got on another plane and headed to Texas... the flight was 12 hours long and the little man slept 10 total hours.  The trick was flying in the middle of the night... and the big boy also did great in the back of the bus watching about 10 movies... and took a little nap.

Once we got to Houston we hit the road running... we had tons of appointments and things to do but someone was really tired...JuJu took him to the grocery store and this is what happened.

But we still did a lot of playing... we had not been home in the summer in years and were excited about getting in the pool and playing outside.  We also had to introduce KW to some good ol kid games...

Thanks to JuJu's smart thinking and kind heart... she had got lots of toys from her friend for Asher to play in/with. He was cruising and Grace loved to chase him... or was it the other way around.

How old are you?

While driving around... I noticed we were back in Houston... check out those rems.

Daddy and I even got a date night... see how dark it is in the background and no kids... wow... thanks JuJu and KW.

Flashback continued.. more time in Houston!

We just love going back home to Houston and spending time with family and friends... we get so spoiled with all the attention and all the food... Here are some pics that can't wait another day without sharing with you... some great memories in H-Town.

Uncle Keith and Auntie Elly came to visit from D-Town and Auntie Elly got picked this night to read a book.

Lots and lots of time with Grace... they would lie like this and watch TV all day if we let them... 

 

And we got to spend some time with cousin Lauren and her fiance at the time Mr. John... they are now married and can't wait to see them as a married couple... super cute.

Since we were newly prego we wanted to go see the doctor that delivered Pierce and let him "in on the action"... he was happy to see us, Pierce and the new one on the ultrasound.  This is also where we told Pierce that he was going to be a big brother... such a sweet moment but it was quickly overshadowed by a very special moment that we experienced when we got the parking lot... not 20 feet from our car we got to see a helicopter take off and they even turned around in our direction and waved to Pierce as they left... so cool.

 

Sweet friends... it is always good to go back home and hang out with friends that no matter how much time has passed it does not feel like we have spent any time apart... what a blessing... and to see all the kids and how much they have grown... good times...

 

Shortly after Pierce's bday... is my bday... and we got some special time in Houston celebrating mine (and Pierce's again)... Here we are birthday morning...

And one of Pierce's favorite things in Houston besides Grace... is Uncle KW... they truly are best buds and Pierce just loves how Uncle KW makes everything so much fun... they are so cute to watch... Uncle KW was picked to read on this night...

 

More friend time... Pierce and Harper use to be in the same playgroup together when they were so tiny... look at them now... 

 

If in Houston and you are celebrating your bday you must have Mexican food... for sure... bc not only is it good but you get to wear a Sombrero.

 

One last moment that is a must to share... Pierce had his first FREEBIRDS... a very special moment.

 

Arrival to Texas (last Dec... sorry so late)

We have been talking about Christmas lately on our blog... so I need to tell you about our arrival to Texas... there was one happy/excited boy to see his favorite Grace... Aunt JuJu's and Uncle KW's dog... but Pierce refers to her as his Texas dog and often talks about her to all his friends as if Grace is his... it will be a sad day when we move back to Texas and have to explain that Grace will stay with JuJu and KW... oh boy what a great conversation that will be... they have a bond like no other.

Here are some pics of our arrival to Houston where Aunt JuJu and Uncle KW live with Grace and family.

Cousin Lauren was getting married in a couple of weeks (she is already married now) so she was living at home... we got some great time with her which will always be treasured.

Pierce although has a room at their house he wanted to sleep with mommy and daddy on the floor.. so we made a pallet and every night he would pick who was going to read to him... and if Cousin Lauren was there... she was always the winner and Grace was always there to enjoy the company as well... 

 

Inseparable these two... we miss you all!

Birthday dinner with friends...

Pierce's birthday night in Texas... we had dinner with some friends that we had not seen in like a year (I think).  They had recently moved to a new city and we were excited to hug their neck, see how big the twins had gotten and to see their home.  OH what fun... Pierce was so excited to have some play buddies and they were all instant friends.
 

They even had a surprise for Pierce after dinner... a birthday cookie cake... Here is Mr. Wade coming out with the surprise...

And this is Pierce's response... embarrassed/shy but so happy.

 

 

Lindsay is a good friend from Houston and we have prayed, laughed, cried and had many dinners together... I sure do miss her jolly spirit and wish we were closer in distance so we could be together and our kids could grow up together.

It was a good night but we had to hurry home to get some rest.... bc the next day we had our 5 year old check up and since we missed our 4 year old check up in the states we knew there were going to lots of shots... and sure enough there were... look at all those bandaids and one un-happy boy
