Moving out... updated!

Goodbye Waterfall Gardens... moving day has come and gone and so much has happened since then but it feels like we said goodbye yesterday... oh how many great memories we made in this place... and we already miss it... Pack out took 2 days and I am still not sure how this fabulous group of men did it.  I have never had movers before and I hope never to have to move again without them... they were awesome and I have zero complaints.  They were respectful to our stuff and us, took little breaks and worked non-stop... it was amazing.  There were several times throughout the day I would feel guilty for not being able to help... I would try to feed them or give them water but they would just say they brought their own stuff.. and keep on working.

Here is Day 1... they were so fast... before we knew it and entire room was packed up.  The left Pierce's bed, the TV and the master bed so we could sleep in the condo one last time.

Since I could not help out (they would not insure it if I helped)... I started to get bored and took pics with my camera... here are some boxes...

I thought it was crazy how they packed... not to waste any space the would take a box and wrap it around the item... guess what this is?

The end of day 1... Pierce came home to this madness... He thought it was pretty cool at first but then noticed all his stuff was in boxes... For Dinner he mentioned to Dad that he wanted to camp in his tent to eat dinner and watch a movie... Dad mentioned that his tent was packed up and we had a minor breakdown... Pierce was in tears before we knew it... I think he had had enough... so we grabbed his blanket off the bed and made a tent as fast as we could... he was happy...

I had to take a picture of this before we threw it away... documentation of everything Tita had ever bought... all her grocery receipts, etc. all nice and neat in a book like a checking account... I miss that Tita...

Day 2... they are back and ready to go...

The crate has arrived and they are starting to fill it... still hoping and praying that everything fits inside... the guy in charge says it will but it will be tight...

The process... they would wrap up the boxes... the boxes would be taken to the elevator... then loaded in a lory (small truck) in the basement... then taken to the street to and packed in to the crate... man these guys are good....

Here we are... almost done... still room for the last box... can you guess how many boxes there were total?

154... wow... who would have thought... we came here with 800 lbs air shipment and now we are leaving with 154 boxes.

Getting the final thumbs up... they are finished... yeah.
It was amazing to watch these men pack that crate (I had always thought that women were better packers but they proved me wrong... or at least give us women a good run for our money)... at the end they would throw boxes around in and out and switch them up left to right, top to bottom... and I was a bit concerned about the boxes they were throwing around and then I noticed that all these boxes they were shifting around and throwing were EMPTY... they do this so there is no shifting while in transit... that is nice but what I saw and heard was that I could have had more stuff... to fill those empty boxes... oh well to late.

Welcome to our empty home... man it looks big and white... just like when we arrived...

One last "hurrah" in Pierce's room... on to the next adventure...

Neighbors forever...

Just one of our many goodbyes... these people were our neighbors back in our old place here in Singapore on the west side... and it has been a joy to keep up with them over the past 3+ years.  A great night on the town for sure... more great memories and this is not goodbye...

On this night we talked about all the great memories we have shared (some were not so great at the time but good to look back on).  Some of them were watching Jane with baby August, running around the condo trying to find a missing child, spending holidays at the pool together, leaving/coming/going/moving and helping each other and learning English together (British or American... who's to know).

We will miss you Cowdy and Iverson Clan...

Things I will miss about WG...

Goodbye Waterfall Gardens... here are just a few things I will miss about you...

1)  Your refrigerator - you are such a beauty and I will miss everything about you including the beeping sound you made when I left your door open to long and also the food (like that chicken enchilada and lasagna) that just magically appeared in you every day.

2) Your pool - oh the many days we have spent with you deciding whether we should stay in the shallow side with your waterfall or the go to the deeper Olympic size pool next to the spa... oh the decisions...

3)  Your tennis court - which we have spent many long HOT hours together.  There are days that I have left you on cloud nine and others where I have felt like dirt... but I always came back to spend more time with you...

4)  Your one and only Tita... that did so much in our home but especially all the ironing that took place.  everything from our underwear to our sheets to our t-shirts were ironed... it will never be the same.

5)  Your elevator -  you have lifted us up and taken us down... but no matter which direction you were the only one who could get us there.

6)  Your bathtub - your faithfulness to the guarantee of relaxation was dynamite.  You have made a young child's wash time so fun and a mom's relaxation time superb.  You will be missed.

So much more that we will miss about you WG... you have been good to us. Thank You!

Ready for the packers...

This week has been one whirlwind... we are officially as of yesterday no longer living in our condo (so sad) which has caused this week to be so busy... a good busy but a bunch of sad goodbyes too.  Here is what our house looked like at the beginning of the week... we were ready for the packers.  Also let me just say I had no idea what we were getting ourselves in... we have never had packers pack us... we (well this was actually Blake's first time to be here during a move... YEAH) have always done it ourselves (with lots of help from family and friends)... I was a bit anal about getting everything organized, cleaned, and vacuum sealed... which really was not sure if it was necessary but it sure did help me process it all.  We had stuff everywhere and lots of stuff was not put in it place but it was really staged for things to pack, things not to pack, things to take with us in our suitcases, things to give away, etc... Enjoy our organized chaos.

I really want to take my spices with me... I hear you can't find some of them in Korea where we are going... hope they make it.

Pierce would come home everyday from school and find a new mess... and say "oh my"... he did really well with all the change and difference in his home... especially now as I write this we are sitting in a hotel... he is doing great... Stay tuned to see how the pack out went...

Neighbor Friends...

We sure have had a great time getting to know our neighbors and having fun over the past few months. And these neighbors do have children that can play with Pierce but they just happen to be girls... it is such a fun age to watch them interact with each other.  They are all so sweet... and Pierce does not really care for barbies or girlie stuff but they bring their own "pink" stuff and play.  On occasions one of the girls will come over and want to play with Pierce's pirate boats... I had to investigate to see what the attraction was but it was just the little lego princess' that are forced to walk the plank... she liked them... For Pierce's birthday one of them gave him a KEN doll dressed up like an army man so that he could bring over and play barbies with her... He does like playing with the ladies and calls them his girlfriend and then the girls freak out... and then I have to sneak in and let them know that in our house that only means they are friends that are girls... then we are good...

Both friends came over the other day for a movie and popcorn... I love the next three pics bc this is usually what happens... the first few moments they are together everyone is happy and smiley and then Pierce starts to act goofy (like a boy) and the girls just stare at him... we wouldn't have it any other way...

Back to Halloween Night...

Really have we not finished Halloween yet.... NOPE... we had so much fun this Halloween that we just had to make sure to record every minute of it.
Halloween night we had some friends over to decorate some cookies, eat some pizza and have a Halloween hunt at our condo. Our condo is new so we had no idea what they would do for trick or treating but it was really neat... they sent us on a hunt with clues where we would find people passing out the treats... the kids had fun.

Here all the big kids are admiring the youngest of the group... Anastasia.
Here Pierce is showing all his friends how he too can touch his toes just like he did when he was a baby. (ViVi and Grandad you will enjoy this picture).

We did our decorating cookies and eating pizza outside on the balcony where we could see the festivities starting below... we are getting excited.

Ok the kids are ready... waiting on the elevator with the bags in hand... ready or not here we come.

We all fit into the elevator... even with Buzz's wings.

They wanted to wait until dark to start the hunt... the kids were ready to go... but being patient.

Off they go... here was the first stop.... we had a big kid with our group helping us with the clues... they were too hard for me.

We went down stairs, up stairs, around dark corners, by the pool and more...

Surprise even daddy was at one of the stations passing out candy...

what a great night with friends at our new condo...
