COOL Club in Ulsan... Dec 2013

A friend and I, teach once a week after school a bible lesson to the children that would like to come.  It is called COOL Club which stands for Children of our Lord.  When we moved to Ulsan the club already existed but the original teacher has moved away so now Karen and I teach it.  We have about 25-30 kids each week from ages 4-13.  It is a wonderful group of kids and its a blessing to be able to teach them. We are truly blessed that the school allows us to have the club on the the school campus after school and that the parents allow their kids to come.  More than half of the kids we get during the week for COOL Club are not coming to church on Sunday for Sunday School... so this is a huge blessing to all.  I never want to forget these sweet faces so I wanted to forever put them here on my blog.  Sweet children that God not only created but has planted a seed... We pray they do mighty things to help glorify His kingdom.

Christmas Tree Fun... Dec 2013

First thing in Dec. we managed to get the tree up and looking so pretty... so we got the boys dressed in the pj's and tried to get some fun pics around the tree... and as you can see we got a lot of action shots but thats "fun" in our house.

A random pic of Asher playing with the kid nativity scene that was a gift to Pierce when he was this age from Aunt JuJu and Uncle KW.  A sweet moment.  Love these boys.

Santa came to the clubhouse... Dec 2013

A much anticipated event... Santa came to the clubhouse.  We are so thankful for all the expats here in Ulsan that make moments like these seem like a little "dose of home".  During Christmas, like most moms and dads, we would take our kids to the nearest mall and get their picture taken with Santa.  Some years they would smile and others they might scream but we would have pics every year with  Santa.  Well this year we did not go to a mall and our Santa was not exactly "perfect" but the moment was perfect and much appreciated.  Here are some pics of all the fun the kids had... even us adults.

Here are the kids are waiting patiently for Santa... who was coming in on something other than a sleigh...

Asher was not really keen at first but he warmed up after a few pictures... Pierce was a patient big brother.

Love these women... Ulsan would not be Ulsan for me without them.

25 days of Christmas... Love from home.... Dec 2013

ViVi and GD always make Christmas for us so special (even through the miles)... they work hard all year finding 25 presents for the boys to open each day in Dec leading up to Christmas.  This was the first year they had 2 grandkids to buy for... so a total of 50+ presents showed up on our doorstep late November and when it arrived, Pierce knew exactly what it was...  The gifts are wrapped in different paper, one for Pierce and the other for Asher, then they have numbers on them from 1 - 25.  We place them under the tree and let the kids find the number that matches the date and open it up.  It was so much fun and Asher had a blast for his first time.  Brother did the finding and then Asher got the hang of opening his own packages.
Pierce got lots of fun cool stuff and some of his favorites were all the puzzles.

Asher got a lot of books and stuffed animals, those were by far his favorite.

Thank you VIVI and GD for loving on us in this way... it is always so much fun and much appreciated.
