3-D made for Kids!

On Sunday we took Pierce to see his 3rd movie, but his first 3-D movie... Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Pierce is in love with movies and dinosaurs so it was the perfect marriage. We had such a good time. Pierce sat in his chair the entire time and kept his 3-D glasses on about 90% of the time. He ate one large box of popcorn and one sucker and left with a smile. We have a saying in our house when we are referring to the Big Movie Screen, we say Big-O movie... and yesterday after church we told Pierce he had to take a nap and then we were going to wake up and go to the Big-O Dinosaur movie... he was ecstatic but he listened well and took a nap.

If you are debating on whether or not to see the movie... DON'T. It was so good and we all laughed the entire time and the 3-D was awesome.

4th of July in Singapore!

What a 4th we had this year... a friend on the blog here in Singapore (never meet her before) sent me a link to this American Association party that was taking place with lots of food, music, games for the kids and fireworks... we had to check it out (Thanks Leone!)... and boy was it fun.

Thanks to ViVi and Grandad we were all suited up in our American flag memorabilia, sunglasses, and glow in the dark bracelets. The party was all the way in the north of the island so we took a cab.... Pierce was so excited to see Fireworks.

After our 4th celebration I was sitting on a bus and found myself thinking about our celebration this weekend and wanted to share my thoughts with you:

As we just finished celebrating the 4th of July, which started in 1776 when some of our founding fathers casted a vote to gain our INDEPENDENCE from The Kingdom of Great Britain. 5 men stood up for America and now we are able to celebrate our Independence with fireworks, hot dogs, face painting, laughter, cotton candy and more on the 4th of July. Here in Singapore there was a huge turnout for the American Association Party in the Woodlands area, I was shocked to see how many people gathered here to celebrate our homeland. That being said I can not help but to think about how we as Christians have a higher calling a calling to celebrate our Independence from the chains of sin and the wrath that Satan wants for us so badly. When ONE man fought for us and won... we can now celebrate everyday, our Salvation. We are forever FREE in HIM. I pray that you today and for the rest of your days; you will digest what He has for you in His word, you will drink from the fountain of Life and that your light will be so bright to this world that it looks like fireworks.

Can you tell he was so happy to see fireworks... he thinks he is pretty cool in his sunglasses.

When we first got there... Pierce spotted these jumper things all the way in the back and he was off... he is the one trying to get up on the slide...

He made it... even with 100 million kids trampling over him... but he loved every minute of it.

This was his first attempt down... that is when I had my camera... he did this slide about 100 times and each time he got a little more adventurous in his departure down the slide... he watched the older kids and started bouncing down.. there was only one time where we had to get off bc the tears were coming down but he had a shiner (that dad was very proud of) later to prove it.

Then we found the castle bouncy thingy... what do you call these things... there was not a limit of jumpers... a little scary.

We had a great night for many reasons but one of the biggest is that we got to spend it with friends... I knew Justin and Jennifer in college and they just got Singapore a month ago and we are so glad they are here.

And Violet and her parents joined us for the fun... Violet is smaller than Pierce but she is just as brave... love it.

Then after play time, food.... then came the fireworks... Pierce was not scared at all... we had such good seats (by chance) that we had to look straight up to see the fireworks... they were right above our heads... we were even hit with shrapnel a couple of times.

What a great night....

After the show we thought we should get the babies to bed... Gillian and Jayme gave us a ride home... it was great for Pierce bc they have a DVD in the car that plays Elmo... can you see how dirty these babies are... and how tired?

We had fun and if we are still here next year on the 4th... we will be back for more.

Speechless Sunday!

Kite Flying with Grandad and ViVi!

One the last day, Grandad and ViVi gave Pierce one more present before they left... it was is very first kite and we of course had to run to the nearest field and play with it.

Pierce loved it... it was so sunny that he had a hard time following it with his eyes (and mom of course forgot a hat for him... oppps) but he was smiling the whole time.

He did not know if he was to run towards to the kite or away from it... so confusing.

There is not much land like this in Singapore but we are blessed to have this soccer field right down the street from us... the condo you see in the back ground is our condo.

We had to play in the nets.... Dad and I need to take him out there with a ball... I think it is time.. we do have a great story for you aggies... Last Sunday we were riding the car on the way to church and Pierce saw some kids playing soccer... I noticed that he was looking at them and asked him if he wanted to play soccer some day... and he said "No I want to play gig'em aggie football"... we were very proud... Gigem Aggies!

Before we left Grandad had to see how high he could get the kite... he is a kid at heart...we just adore him. Thank you ViVi and Grandad for a great afternoon at the park with our first kite.

Lonely... we miss them already!

The last 16 days have been a blast... they have come to an end and we are very sad. I think everyone is going to get some rest after these past couple of weeks but we made memories that will last a lifetime. We had to say goodbye (for now) to ViVi, Grandad and Great Mama. We had dinner at Villa Bali and then drove them to the airport so they could go home. All day yesterday Pierce kept seeing the suitcases emerge from the closets and we were slowly telling him what was going on. He handled it well until we were standing at the terminal saying Goodbye... Pierce was screaming through his tears "I want ViVi and Grandad"... "I want ViVi and Grandad"... we told him they were going back home to Texas and that we were staying in Singapore. We soon got him in the car and turned on the DVD player and he was better but within 5 minutes he asked for a present (bc ViVi told him he gets a present on Sat. that they left for him).

I think this is our only picture of all of us... it was a great night together... we all had tears in our eyes when they left but we know we will see them soon.

This was Pierce's first time to his restaurant and he almost ate all of the chicken satay on his plate...I guess he liked them.

ViVi wanted some kisses... but Pierce was still into his movie.

Then ViVi asked for a real kiss... and boy did she get one...

And then some spit...

We already miss ViVi, Grandad and Great Mama so much... it just was not the same to wake up and not have Great Mama sitting on the couch waiting for us... when Pierce woke up this morning he asked "where is my Great Mama"... I like how he used the word my... we had a great time and can't wait to do it again...

Last Full Day - "Song of the Sea" show at Sentosa!

Our last full day we spent the morning resting while Pierce was at school and then for dinner we headed to ViVo City. The guys and girls split up... the guys went to see transformers and the girls went and had Thai food and then headed over to Sentosa Island for the "Song of the Sea" show.

Sorry about the quality of this picture but it was taken from our table at the restaurant a ways away from this sign that was the entrance to Sentosa Island.

Our dinner was good but the "Songs of the Sea' show was the best... the best $13 I have spent in a long time (other than the massage that I got yesterday).

We had great seats and were close to the performs as they were acting out the sounds from the speaker (a bit cheesy) but check out that gorgeous village in the background.

We thought it was going to be a laser light water show... but they had fire too... pretty cool... no it was pretty hot... but awesome.

They would take water from the ocean and project it into the sky and then shine a laser light on the "fountains"... it was amazing and I recommend it for all to see.

These are not firecrackers... this is water and light... are you impressed yet?

After the show we had some time to kill while the guys were still in the movie.... and I saw this and had to take a pic... I have met some Monks while living here and they have all been very nice but I have never seen monks in a mall going in a store to shop...

My son the singer!

Who would have ever thought that Pierce's favorite thing to do right now is SING... he sings when he first wakes up, he sings himself to sleep, when he is crabby he ask me to sing, he sings in the cab, on the bus and it is just non stop... Pierce is almost 2.5 years old and his favorite songs are:

We just have the best time listening to his little voice sing... usually when he starts we all just drop what we are doing and listen with a big smile...but if I do get up to get the camera to record him he stops.... well the other day I got a little bit on camera... but this by far is not his best performance.



He started to sing to his turtles and then he was distracted by the baseball bat... lets just say that dad would rather him play with a baseball bat then sing to his turtle... so good boy SON!
